I have read that these are symptoms of a B vitamin deficiency...ALL B vitamins in complex work together with additional biotin (50mg 3x daily) and inositol (100mg twice daily). Foods high in biotin: brewer's yeast, brown rice, bulgur, green peas, lentils, oats, sunflower seeds and walnuts. Also treating the immune system with some zinc promotes hair growth.
"In addition to heredity, factors that promote hair loss include poor circulation, acute illness, surgery, radiation exposure, skin disease, sudden weight loss, high fever, iron deficiency, diabetes, thyroid disease, drugs such as those used for chemotherapy, stress, poor diet, and vitamin deficiencies." (Prescritpion for Nutritional Healing, James F. Balch)
What do you think about that?
