Dear Doctors,
I stopped the other medicines and took Benz Acid as directed for 7 days.
Unfortunately, no changes to my serum uric acid, it is still at the same level.
Moreover, I have had the pain (moderate level) come back on for 3 days during this period.
Please note, when I earlier took Colchicum & Urtica in different combinations for the previous 30 days, although my serum uric acid did not go down, at least I had no pain.
I'm not taking any medicines currently. Please advise what to do next.
Thanks.

I am amazed in the manner Colchicum, Urtic etc is being prescribed for gout. This is allopathic prescribing and not homeopathic prescribing which is based on the totality of the symptoms. You may palliate the symptoms for the time being, but in doing so you may cause further mischief by causing the gout to show up elsewhere in the vital organs. It is known that suppression of gout can lead to rheumatic heart problems. Gout is a serious disease and should be treated by a classical homeopath. Case in point, I am presently being treated for gout and have taken Nat.Mur. which has helped me greatly. Like my homeopath tells me, he is not treating the gout, and that the remedy is based on the totality of symptoms.

Dr.Mohla,
I had to wait a few days before I could start Colchicum and Urtica again. In the meantime, I was under a moderately bad spell of pain and had to take high doses of Ibuprofen for a few days to control the pain.
Anyways, I've taken Colchicum (thrice daily) and Urtica (once daily) for 7 days now. The pain is finally gone as of yesterday. However, my serum UA is in the same high range.
I haven't stopped the remedies yet. Please advise what to do.
Thanks.
Tendercity,
I am overweight and my BP is around 140/95. I have skin spots like cellulites on both my feet. Other than that no other problems. Oh, and my self diagnosis says I have a low metabolism.
Thanks.

Dr.Mohla,
I have not taken any remedies for the last 8 days. During this time, I have had a few days of no pain, a few days of mild pain and a few days of moderate pain, all intermittently.
As for movement, I am not a very active person, so I generally prefer less movement. However, the effect of the movement on the pain varies from time to time. Mostly, if the pain is mild, movement makes it better. If the pain is moderate to severe, rest makes it better.
As for weather, it is generally dry and only gets humid very few times a year. Temperature is extreme, dipping to -30C in winter and going upto +35C in summer. However, this year summer has been pretty mild so far, although we have been having a lot of fluctuations in the weather.
Please advise.
Thanks.

Dr.Mohla,
The pain shifts randomly, sometimes from left to right and sometimes from right to left and sometimes no shifting at all. Both of my feet are affected (mainly), as well as my left knee (sometimes). The pain only comes on at one place at any given time. The pain affects different joints on my feet and moves around, sometimes within the same foot and sometimes alternating between both feet.
Generally, the pain either starts in late afternoon/evening and gets intense overnight, or starts from nowhere in the middle of the night. Sometimes I get a little relief once I move around a bit in the morning after waking up and take a warm shower.
The redness and heat increases with the intensity of the pain. Swelling and stiffness is mainly only present during severe flareups.
Seafood, alcohol, eggs, pork and turkey are very aggravating so I have stopped them completely. Other meats, fish, as well as beans/lentils are also aggravating if I consume more than limited quantities. Carbonated drinks, especially diet drinks with aspartame is aggravating. I also suspect that foods with yeast aggravate the pain, but fully sure yet.
As well, although I can't say for sure, I suspect sudden changes in the weather makes it worse and also during hot weather. I have also noticed that I loose a little weight during the moderate to severe flareups.
Also forgot to mention earlier that I get pretty bad headaches from time to time with sudden changes in the weather.
I have ordered the Colchicum 200, but I also see Dr.Pervaz's different suggestion. Please advise what to do next.
Thanks.

Your remedies are:
Nat Phos 6x dose 3 tablets taken thrice daily.
Arnca 30c in the Wet dose taken twice daily.
The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:
Order the remedy in the Liquid pack in Alcohol, also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard at least 6 times before you sip a capfull of the bottle or a large teaspoonful which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this enhances the effect of the remedy on the user.
Please note that these remedies will take some time to react on your problem and you can take a blood test monthly and report results.

They are closely related.
Diocia is known as stinging
nettle. You would have to find a materia
medica that showed the differences in
the provings- they are probably minor.
Urtica urens is the botanical name for an annual herbaceous plant native to Europe and Asia and now naturalized in most of North America. It is related to the perennial common stinging nettle,( diocia) but is much shorter and more compact.
