First episode of wheezing and shortness of breath in my 2 year old child with a parental history of asthma

This is the case history in details, kindly help me with your suggestions:
Age-1 year 10 months
Complaint- wheezing with shortness of breath.
onset: gradual, over a period of two days. started out as a deep rattling cough and finally had deep retractions, trouble breathing and restlessness. Finally was nebulized.
Associated symptoms: Fever and cough.
Thirst: Increased during the attack, drinks less but more often.
Appetite: Diminished.
Bowel motions: Irregular during the acute phase.
Tongue: Coated white but uniformy and not a very thick coating.
Child did not respond to ANTIM TART 30 and ipecac 30 in the acute phase.
Generalities:
Mind: Quiet, shy, likes people, a liitle fastidious, does not nag or whine during the acute phase or normally, very cheerful and playful in general with almost no change during the active phase too! likes it outdoors.
Desires: Company, in food likes salt and sweets, meat, fish,and egg. Likes vegetables and fruits,.
Thirst: generally less, but increased during the acute phase.
Bowel motions: Twice daily, solid formed stool with no odor.
Urine: normal without no odor or particular color.
sweat: normal, does not stain, not offensive.
Child has had normal milestones to date.
Past History: none so far.
Family history: father-bronchial asthma. mother- history of 3 convulsions during pregnancy. grandfather-eczema.
No history of TB in family.
skin: white patch on back from birth. not elevated from skin, now expanding very slowly.
Hot/Cold: will not cover at night however will not take off jacket and cap during the day even when sweating!!could be fashion conscious also:-)
Normal vaginal delivery with 1 1/2 years of breastfeeding.

Please do let me know of a remedy to pursue to ward off similar attacks in the future.
