Bedwetting 11 year old girl

Hello everyone,

I have an 11 year old daughter who wets the bed at night. She has only ever had a dry spells that last one or two weeks, She has been this way since potty training, mostly these days she wets everynight and not just a little but whole bladders full. She wears pull ups which are brilliant. She doesn't drink before bed time and always goes to the loo before bed. Someone has reccomended DESMOPRESANT but I am reluctant to give such powerful drugs to a child. She suffers no pain from this and it is really just a matter of it would be nicer if she was able to go through the night dry, sometimes the wetting occurs before midnight but I think mostly it is after midnight.

One thing I thought might be relevant is that she had measles at three months old and has almost no enamel on her teeth as a result - does anyone think this could be linked?

Does anyone have any suggestions for Homeopathic remedies that we could try?

Huge thanks in advance to anyone who responds

Bertie :o)

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Also I forgot to mention that until a year or so ago she would wet during the day - but this has now stopped and it only happens at night now ..

We need much more than the fact that she wets and the teeth. Many children have had measles at young age and the teeth are affected.

We need personality discription, preferences of food and drink. Is she a chilly person or warm? School attitudes, etc. Tell us about your child. Did she begin period yet? Body changes? Does she have friends?

Does she have any allergies??? very important!!

When it was in the day, was it that she waited too long, and just lost it?

Even though this is life-long, we begin in the now and then old symptoms may occur and then we treat as we go.

Has she been checked for diabetes? Thyroid?

Let us know.

Hi Sabra - thanks for the reply. My daughter is a very sociable and witty child, she loves to dawdle and take her time over everything. Daydreaming is her speciality. She has a strong character and isn't flustered by much - pretty confident. She does really well at school, has not got her period yet. She loves savoury foods and is a little chubby maybe, but not overly just healthy.

When she wet in the daytime it would be sometimes 5-6 times a day, not always because she left it too long but sometimes.

Both day and night the urine has always had a strong smell, but not a dark colour.

She has no allergies and on the whole is a really healthy kid - we have tried kidney scans - hypnotherapy - cranio sachral massage - reiki - accupuncture (over the years not all at once - and I have just let her be for the last two years or so) she is also not diabetic and doesn't have any thyroid problems - we had lots of hospital checks a few years back.

Thanks once again

I know daydreaming well, this was my major problem when I was in elementary. On every report card.

No known allergies?? I have known people that have unknown allergies that affect their bladder and they "have to go" right now, or they wet.

Wheat could be an irritant. It is literly in everything!

From what you say, she is not taking part in this effort. The pull ups are just great. Maybe if she was more embarrassed, she would take it more seriously??? You probably have already tried this.

Have you checked her IQ? I suspect it is above average.

I have treated younger children for this with STAPHYSAGRIA and in this case maybe 30C. One dose each afternoon just after school for 3 days. Also, found that cinnamon does something. Make cinnamon toast every morning for breakfast.

Please let us know.

Thanks so much for this Sabra - I will give this a try. I'll keep you posted of the progress. It will be quite exciting if she can make some progress with this.

You are right in the fact that it is me that is mostly concerned about this, but I am not pushing her about it at all. She hates speaking about it and switches off or tries to change the subject, so I will give her the cinnamon and Staphysagria but nt tell her what its all about and just see what happens for her.

Thanks so much again, you're brill :)
