Hypothyroidism
I'm in the US Marines (EAS in a few months), and was diagnosed by my doctor at home with hypothyroidism. I've struggled with my weight since I was youg, I was prescribed prednazone when I was 12 for chronic osteomilitis, I gained a lot of weight and haven't been able to completely lose it. I exercise vigorously almost every day (either run for 45+ minutes or Crossfit for 30 minutes, followed by 4-5 hours on a stationary bike), I watch what I eat (usually white rice and grilled meat twice a day), I don't drink alcohol in any form, I drink lots of black tea and water (1-2 gallons a day) and I still can't lose weight and keep it off. My weight flucuates horribly, from between 250 lbs to 200 lbs (I'm 6' 3' tall). I would prefer a homeopathic remedy, both because I hate taking meds, and because I'll receieve a medical discharge (as opposed to an honorable discharge) if the Marine Corps finds out.I read another post about hypothyroidism, the poster listed virtually all of my symptoms, untoned muscles, fatigue, sensitive to cold, joint pain, itchy skin, weight gain, constipation, etc. Another member recommended 30C of Lycopodium, 3 doses spaced 3 hours apart for a single day, which I will try, but I have a few questions:
How much is 30C? What unit of measurement is C? Do I repeat this dose at any point? Is liquid form or capsule form better? I have an extremely high tolerance to chemicals (I avoid meds, but when I do have to take them, it usually takes 2 to 3 times the normal dose to work), should I up the dose, and if so, what to?
Any advice is appreciated. Many thanks!

How much is 30C? What unit of measurement is C?
C is the measure of potency.
Do I repeat this dose at any point?
It depends on your response to the dose you have taken. You should observe your symptoms for next 10 days after taking the doses. The indicated remedy will be decided on the basis of prevailing symptoms.
Is liquid form or capsule form better?
You may take the remedy in pills form. 4-5 pills as one dose.
I have an extremely high tolerance to chemicals (I avoid meds, but when I do have to take them, it usually takes 2 to 3 times the normal dose to work), should I up the dose, and if so, what to?
You should first see how you respond to the 30c dose as above and then you should decide. It is not advisable to take more doses or to go for a higher potency to start with.
You may submit your details in the following format just to confirm whether you should start with lycopodium.

1. Describe your main suffering?
Bad muscle tone, always tired regardless of sleep, weight gain, massive fluctuations of weight
2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?
Joint pain, headaches, dry mouth and throat, sensitive to cold
3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?
Depression, just feel generally weary
4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?
Extremely lethargic and depressed
5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?
When I was 7, I was diagnosed with chronic osteomilitis, have had countless meds for this (everything from deltisone to vancomyicin). Succesful treatment when I was 18, a lot of symptoms (very dry skin, brittle nails and course hair, constant pain) went away, but fatigue and massive weight fluctuations are still here.
6. Which time of the day you are worst?
When I wake up and in the evening.
7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?
Nothing that I've found, really, aside from normal adrenaline rushes.
8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?
I lost a lot of weight in Iraq, but that was because it was 150 degrees, didn't have time to eat anything, wore 150 pounds of gear, and did a lot of running around.
9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?
Most comfortable in mid-range humidity and temprature. I acclimatise relatively quickly to high tempratures, but cold really bothers me. It never bothered me until about 4 or 5 years ago.
10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.
Usually depressed and don't feel like doing anything.
- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm?
Absolutely great.
- Do you like being consoled during your tough times?
No.
- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc?
Bright lights bother me.
- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc?
My skin itches a lot, so scratching.
- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?
Not very close to my family, even though they are great people.
11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?
I have nightmares about Iraq occasionally. I've been diagnosed with mild PTSD, but have had the symptoms in question long before I went to Iraq.
12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?
I love red meat and vegetables like brussels sprouts, asparagus, and cucumbers.
13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?
Very, very dry mouth and throat, but usually not thirsty. I drink a lot of water anyways (1-2 gallons a day, occasionally Gatorade or Pedialyte) to stay properly hydrated.
14. How if your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive?
It fluctuates, sometimes I'm never hungry, and only eat because I know I have to, other times I'm always hungry. I try my best to maintain a steady diet (no binging and no fasting), but sometimes it doesn't work out that way (due to work).
15. Is there any kind of food which your body cant stand?
Ketchup, mustard, virtually any normal condiment.
16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs?
I sweat a lot, mostly from my head.
17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?
Irregular (I've recently started taking a colon cleanser), and alternating between loose and packed.
18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?
I have a lot of trouble falling asleep, and when I wake up, I still feel tired, even after 8+ hours of sleep.
19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?
For the most part.
20. How do you think you are different from others, if at all?
I have a lot of trouble losing weight and gaining muscle. I've been told by a lot of people with considerable experience and knowledge of fitness and diet that with the amount of exercise I do and my eating habits I should be much, much thinner and toned.
21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?
I can't remember all them, but I'll list as many as I can think of. These were given to me between the ages of 7 and 18 (mostly after 15 though, vancomyicin was the normal med): vancomyicin, deltisone/prednisone, morphine, rocephin (which I had a sever allergic reaction to, age 12), Cefalexin, penicillin, Merrem, and Ketek. There's a whole list of them, I just can't remember all of them.
22. What major diseases are running in your family?
Nothing really. My family has a history of being pretty healthy.
23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance
Tall (6' 3'/190cm), broad shoulders, somewhat overweight (fluctuating between 200lbs/91kg and 250lbs/114kg, my last BMI taping put me at 28% body fat). 28% might not be overweight by most standards, but I exercise constantly, and should be much, much lower.
