Lots of Pain from Bartholins Cyst
I saw some other posts about Bartholin's cysts and hope it is ok to post a new one. I have had the cyst for about 3 years now and have left it completely alone until 6 months ago. I started having pain during intercourse and general uncomfortableness. It became infected and I tried 3 different rounds of antibiotics - Doxycycline, Bactrim & Ceflex. The infection went away and came back in a few weeks. I had it drained with a needle (no catheter) 2 weeks ago and the cyst has already come back and become even more painful than before. I cannot wear anything but dresses and I have to sit on a doughnut pillow at all times. It hurts contastantly and intercourse is impossible, which is hurting my marriage. The Dr is recommending surgery to remove the gland, but not only do I not wnt to have it based on the horror stories I've read, I also have no health insurance right now. Do you have any suggestions? I need to be out of pain! This is causing me to miss too much work and the last thing I need is to lose my job too. I've tried many pain killers, but OTC do not help and I do not want to develop a dependency on narcotics. I take sitz baths and it helps with the pain, but not with the cyst. It will not drain on it's own. Any suggestions are appreciated!inpain2237 on 2009-09-08
This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please take Myristica Sebifera 30c thrice a day at a gap of 4 hours for 7 days and report back.
One dose means
If the medicine is in pills form 4 pills. Don't touch pills with hand. Use cap of bottle to take pills.
If the medicine is in liquid dilution form, 3-4 drops in some 20 ml water. Sip up slowly.
Please follow homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 30 minutes before or after taking medicine.

I had a pea sized cyst drained about two years ago. It was an awful experience. The doctor was very rough. I'm a redhead and she gave me WAY too much anesthetic,so I swelled like a balloon and had a big hematoma down there and had to get a hole cut in it for drainage. I lost my job because it was right around Christmas and I couldn't work through all the pain, and drainage.
It stayed gone for about six months and then came back the size of a grape.
It gets worse with sexual enounters of any kind.
I can get it to drain if I boil my butt in a sitz bath with sea salt or baking soda and then sit there and manioulate it with my fingers until it ruptures. Idid that last night, and today it's bleeding.
I tred silica complex and various teas and that didn't work. Just made me have to poop eight plus times a day.
I am blessed that mine has not gotten out of control yet.
I want to know if birth control can cause these things.
Also I want to know if they are due to hormonal imbalance. Maybe I should try Dong Quai?
I had ammenorhea as a teenager and a diet hight in fat plus Dong Quai regulated my cycles and made my breats mature even though I was 20.
I'd be willing to try anything.

I totally understand what you are going thru. I've been to the ER twice this month, once to have it drained, 2nd time b/c it's coming back already and it's only been a week. I asked about birth control and they said it wouldn't help it or hurt it, either way. I think it is hormones b/c I've developed two ovarian cysts now, one ruptured in the ER!, and a cyst in my breast tissue. I've done extensive research and everything says the same thing the Drs are telling me, there's nothing you can do to prevent it, they don't know what causes it and we're not doing anything wrong. I'm thinking about changing my diet, trying to cut all processed sugars and go more natural, I really think that will help. I've also believed for years that microwaving our food causes us health problems, just my personal opinion. I don't think Dong Quai would hurt to try, but I'm no Dr.
My older friend has suffered with this for years and she said to try Phisohex in your sitz bath. It's supposed to help any type of abcess or cyst drain and you can get it at the pharmacy. She said her's didn't clear up until she got a hystorectomy!
