Polycystic Ovarian Disease

My sister has been diagnosed by a gynecologist with Polycystic Ovarian Disease.

PHYSICAL:
She is obese, has irregular, heavy and extremely painful menstruation and spotting between menses. She experiences nausea and tearfulness during menses. She is unable to work. Her glucose levels are high (borderline diabetic). Better for lying down (on back). Better for warmth/heat (hot water bottle on abdomen). Experiences loss of appetite.

CHARACTER, MENTAL & EMOTIONAL:
She is a sensitive individual. Words hurt her easily. She likes to be in control. She doesn't like to be wrong. She has a short temper. She fears betrayal. She does not trust easily. She enjoys being alone. She is close to her immediate family but has few other meaningful relationships. She enjoys rich food, and overindulges as such frequently. She works hard and is very career-driven. She does not drink or smoke. She has extremely high morals and ethics. The plight of others affects her deeply, but she does not express this readily. She doesn't readily express her emotions. She guards her personal life. She doesn't talk about her feelings often. She has a bad relationship with her father, and harbors some resentment as a result. She feels embarrassed and defensive about her weight and medical condition. She does not want to be in a public place. She wants to be in her own home.

She has made an appointment with a dietitian.

The Remedy Finder suggests lach./apis./iod./lyc./coloc./plat/staph./murx./thuj./merc./apoc. - how do I select a potency once a remedy has been selected? Can anyone recommend another remedy that I should look into?

(NOTE: I am trying to convince her to see a homeopath but she's a bit skeptical, and also feels embarrassed by her condition and weight.)
