chronic nasal catarrh/dry cough
dr Kadwa and othersMy son( 9 years) has the following problems for the last two years
(a)LEFT NOSE ONLY frequently blocked. Mostly little discharge but it irritates.
(b) Nux 30 relieves the symptoms immediately.symptoms return when medicine is discontinued we have tried Nux 200 also.
(c)a new developement is that when nose symptoms go away a dry cough starts.we have given spongia /bry for this which gives relief During this time he has copious expectoration through LEFT NOSE only.but the nose symptom starts again
(d)Of late he has sneezing also.
Very active/Poor eater/frequent worm problems/
likes open cool air
kindly suggest something

My son is much better now.he doesn't have that barking persistent cough.Sometimes he gets a post nasal drip followed by a subdued type of cough off and on.

There are five remedies that can work for your child.
1. Puls
This will work when he has mild disposition and he prefers open air. It should work when his nasal discharge is yellow or green.
2. Phos
This will work if he prefers open air and has a barking cough.
3. Ars Alb
When his nasal discharge is thin and if he prefers warmth Ars should work.
4. Cina
When he suffers on account of worms Cina should work.
5. Allium Cepa
When his nasal discharge is thin and acrid and if he prefers open air Allium Cepa should work.
So you should give him the indicated remedy in the same way as you have given earlier.
It will be best if everyone including parents and the child do the breathing exercises regularly. The child may do it for 10-15 minutes daily.
Please read my posts on the breathing exercises called as Anulom Vilom Pranayam and Kapalbhati Pranayam by following the links given below. Please practise these pranayams regularly for half an hour preferably in a garden early in the morning. You may practise at any other convinient time. The only restriction that you have to follow is not to do these exercises within 4 hours after meals. You can have meals not within 15 minutes after finishing these exercises.

Vidangasava - for worms.
Sitopaladi Choorna - for cough
Laxmi Vilas Ras - for cold
