Growth on Iris - Urgent
Hi,My kitty had a blackish brown, flat spot on his Irisbeginning about 3 weeks ago. Last weekend it has begun growth towards the surface of the eye.
The opthamologist did an ultra sound and it is contained to what we see (not coming from behind his eye) and suspected either a tumor or vascular hemorrhage from newly discovered elevated blood pressure.
If it grows, this would probably disprove the hemorrhage theory, which it has grown over night.
It is blackish brown.
Other health conditions
1. Asthma (lifetime). Intermittent. On prenisolone daily.
2. Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Has had diarrhea for approximately three years with varying stool consistencies and a few reprieves. Multiple testing has revealed small bowel inflammation and pancreatitis at time of test. Possible absorption issues. He has responded well (formed stools) to injections of vit B recently.
3. Arthritis in right elbow from irritation from a BB (from BB gun when he was a stray) under the skin. Significant limp and trouble jumping.
4. Dry, flaky skin. Dry static-cling hair.
Today he seems very warm, but on best attempt to take temperature, it was normal or slightly elevated.
He is frightful and not eating or drinking. Gave 100 ML fluids. He likes to be hidden and was talking and drinking a lot through the night.
We went ahead and gave him the high blood pressure medicine last night so it could be his reason for general malaise.
Does anyone have any ideas. My repertory does not have anything for eye, iris, tumor, etc.
I don't know a rubric for hypertension, or if this is even a factor in the most dangerous aspect of his condition, which is the rapidly growing growth on his right eye.
Any help would be so wonderful. I could then research remedy ideas to see which fits for him on a more personal level.
Thank you.
In kindness,
Kristi

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
p.s. The growth did not look typical for a malignant eye tumor, but the next step is to xray the body to check for another mass which may be creating tumors elsewhere (like his eye). Nothing is open during the holiday for an xray.
