General Question regarding Systemic Candida

i realize that homeopathy is a complex discipline and that it can't be approached in the same way that other disciplines are typically approached, but in this instance i hope i will be forgiven for this very basic question:

are there remedies most typically used to treat systemic candidiasis, and is there any realistic hope for severe, long-term infestation?

thanks

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Each case is different and needs an individual remedy based on the person.

Yes there is hope.

Please use the homeopathic patient intake form and give us the appropriate information about your case, and hopefully someone here will help you begin correct homeoapthic treatment.

there are several questions i can't answer, so will remove them to save space.

i have been ill for a very long time and have only recently learned that candidiasis is either at the heart of the problem or has become the problem. i have been diagnosed (correctly or not ... who knows?) with various conditions ranging from Post-Viral Syndrome to Fibromyalgia.

i am 30 years older than i was when it all began, and since then age has begun taking its toll, which makes everything else more complicated, and just to keep things 'interesting', my symptoms are forever shifting and often contradictory.

this list of questions is mentally very overwhelming as my thought processes are severely affected, but i will do my best.

Gender: F
Age: 57
Body Type: ?
Height: 5'5
Weight: 125-130
General appearance: ?

Have you used homeopathic medicines before? If so what, and what homeopathic potencies did you use?

*yes. 12C to 1M

i have taken many remedies: sepia, carbo veg, carcinosin, causticum, cocc ind, silicea, lachesis, arnica (very helpful in healing old injuries but did not address other problems), calc carb, nat mur, ferrrum met, hepar sulf (which caused aggravations without resolution; in other words, i got worse and stayed worse), phos, and rhus tox (somewhat helpeful with pain of arthritis but otherwise no effect).

i believe that's the full list. these were all given to me by a homeopath over the course of two years. i no longer see her for reasons which may be relatively obvious. i also can no longer afford her. there are no other homeopaths within reasonable travel distance, nor can i afford their services; the past two years have cleaned me out.

it seemed that in carcinosin we had found the perfect remedy. there are some minor differences (i am not fastidious in the ordinary sense of the word, for example) but overall it seemed perfect. it did relieve some head pain and insomnia for a few days, but then that effect wore off. repeated doses and higher potencies have proven ineffective.

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?
* at this point i am in a state of absolute despair having been severely disabled by illness for 30 years.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst? Describe the sensation in your own words.
* there are no better or worse times. any time i'm awake i'm at my worst.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?
* i can't pin it down to any specific event or disease. formerly very healthy and vigourous, i almost literally woke up like this one day. 30 years later i still have a moment of disbelief when i wake and realize i'm still no better.

6. Which time of the day you are worst?
* there is no difference

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same? Example- time, temperature, pressure, rubbing, washing, eating, tight clothing etc.
* wind and drafts aggravate, as do changes in weather and barometric pressure. i am intolerant of temperature extremes (heat/cold). approach of thunderstorm aggravates; thunderstorm itself is exhilarating but does not amel. tight clothing are intolerable, especially at from waist to neck. in some instances gentle pressure can amel some muscle pain for a few minutes; in other instances touch of any kind severely agg. enjoy open air when weather is favourable but it does not amel. warm applications temporarily ease arthritic pain and belly pains, but can only use them for short periods of time before they begin to agg other symptoms.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?
* there is aggravation from environments which trigger allergic reaction or becoming cold or overly warm, but there is no direct cause/effect.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?
* moderately warm (22C/70F) temperatures and dry is the least aggravating.

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.
* i'm probably a very irritating person :) i started experiencing mood swings and periods of depression after becoming ill, but overall i am mild of temper, usually to find enjoyment in most things. i'm not easily offended, though my feelings can sometimes be easily hurt. years of disability have created anxiety regarding basic survival issues but i am not of a nervous disposition. i used to enjoy whatever work i put my hand to and did my best without becoming obcessive about it. not being able to work is frustrating and discouraging. i'm slow to anger and quick to forgive, though while at height of anger can become verbally cruel (to my shame). sometimes i crave to be quiet, other times i talk far too much.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm?
* before: weighed down, achy, uneasy and restless
* during: exhilarated, excited. wish i could run outside and dance in the storm (as i used to when younger and healthy).

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times?
* no, it makes me uncomfortable. the exception would be a quiet presence (e.g. a trusted friend) where the tough time is acknowledged but not talked about.

- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc?
* very.

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless Weeping, talking to one self etc?
* not that i'm aware of.

- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?
* i am divorced and not at all fond of my ex husband :) as for my children, grandchildren, and my friends, they are the heart and soul of my existence. i'm not blind to their weaknesses or 'faults', and sometimes being around them can be very exhausting, but they are my reason for living, especially now when the term 'living' is open to interpretation.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?
* my greatest fear is becoming so helpless i must go into a care facility. i am already being strongly urged to do so and i'm terrified the choice will be taken from me.
i don't dream often any more and when i do, they are nightmares. i can't think of any that repeat.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?
* sweets and fatty meat are both cravings and aversions. i am intolerant to both and usually manage to avoid giving in to cravings when they occur.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?
* probably somewhat extreme. i crave cold drinks, but they cause severe stomach pain. i always have a warm or lukewarm drink at hand.

14. How is your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive?
* usually normal

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand?
* it would be easier to list the foods my body *can* stand. i am intolerant of wheat and most other grains, dairy (including yogurt), citrus fruits, tomatoes, and several spices (e.g. cinnamon and ginger) ... and so on.

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs?
* i experience night sweats; also often break into a sweat when moving from a cool to warm environment or vice-versa. the night sweats are typically cold, on my neck and face, sometimes upper chest. sweats caused by change in temperature tend to be mostly neck, face, and armpits (and yes, the armpit sweat reeks ... a combination of acidic and sour would best describe it)

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?
* usually average, though i have episodes of severe cramping and diarrhoea which can last a few hours to a few days.

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?
* i sleep very poorly, often unable to sleep at all for up to a week except for occasionally dozing off for 5 or 10 minutes. i would prefer to sleep on my side (either side) or on my stomach, but arthritic pains force me to sleep on my back with neck support.

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?
* first i'd need the energy to be interested

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?
* during the first approximately 5 years i was given many medications. i am now allergic to almost all classes of allopathic drug. i am also allergic to many herbal remedies after having turned to those in the hope of relief.

22. What major diseases are running in your family?
* cancer and heart disease in approximately 30% of family members; otherwise, there are no known major diseases.

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance.
* prematurely old (haggard). strongly built but tending toward slender. retain some muscle mass due to previously being very athletic. before illness tended to be underweight; since illness tend to gain very easily.

24. If your menstrual cycles are not normal, please describe the irregularities, like pains, moods, flow type, clots etc.
* does not apply

25. What major diseases have you had in your life and when. Please write them in a chronological manner.
* unknown tropical disease causing me to be 'DOA' at hospital; obviously was revived - age 6 weeks
* frequent tonsillitis til removed at age 5
*scarlet fever at age 7
* chicken pox age 11
* mumps age 11

regarding sweat, i forgot that in warm weather i sweat quite profusely if it's at all humid. this is a full-body sweat (head to toe) which burns my skin, especially my face, often to the point of making it raw. with this type of sweat there is rarely an odour.

i apologize for additional posts; with my very poor memory sometimes it takes me a long time to remember details i'd not thought about in some time. as well, i don't know how to edit existing posts or if it can be done at all.

regarding the question of when did it start, i can't be entirely sure, but it seems i started to decline shortly after having what in retrospect drs believe may have been viral meningitis. how that relates to systemic candidiasis i have no idea because there's no way of knowing which came first. i had felt quite well prior to the infection, but at the same time i had been prone, especially as a child, to thrush-type conditions, with many cancer sores and painful bumps on my tongue.

also extreme itching of skin, mostly lower legs and scalp, though heat directly applied to any part of the body will cause maddening itch. lower legs are covered with red spots and spider veins, as well as small raw patches, from scratching.

i also occasionally experience itching at my waist, with a colourless rash (small bumps) just under my lowest ribs. this comes and goes in a random fashion and with a bit of willpower can stop myself from scratching.

i asked be tested for systemic candida after i had conducted a small experiment by applying a topical anti-fungal to a particularly uncomfortable patch of skin. the relief was almost immediate, though the discolouration remained. i haven't used the cream since, so i don't know if my skin colour would have returned to normal had i continued.

i hope the above is relevant.

maybe i should change the subject line to PLEASE HELP ME BEFORE I LOSE WHAT'S LEFT OF MY MIND! :)

seriously; my original post was 'general' for a reason: every time i go into details i either get a whole lot of silence or am told to see a homeopath (after stating i have done but no longer can).

i'm less than a novice in the study of homeopathy, but i'm not stupid, so even having a 'ballpark' idea of where to start looking would give me something to do besides spend most of each and every day wishing this unrelenting illness which has stolen more than half my life (so far) would just finish the job.

i am also interested to know what would cause a person of normal body weight to become emaciated in the face with long dark (almost black) hollows under cheekbones, and sinking-in of eyes.
