Rash on 5 month old

My daughter is 5 months old. She has a rash on her legs and back. on her legs are skin toned bumps spread all over. on her back are patches of red, dry skin. She is exclusively breastfed. She has had the rash for about 4 days. The only change to my diet is that i have been drinking more soda lately. She has been crankier at night and having trouble falling asleep. No other symptoms, she is nursing, peeing and pooping normally. i have used breast milk, aloe, coconut oil and a cream made of jojoba oil and tea tree oil. the aloe and the cream helped a bit but not much. What remedy should i give her? thank you

Sorry I meant to say what happened around the time it appeared or anytime within the week beforehand.

For a successful prescription it is necessary to obtain a certain amount of details that will help us distinguish between the 5000+ remedies we have.

I will post my intake form, although many of the details will not be relevent. Use it as a guide to giving more information.

GUIDELINES FOR GIVING HOMOEOPATHIC CASE INFORMATION

It is important to describe all your problems in as much detail as you are able. One word answers and short sentences are not particularly helpful. Discuss each problem one at a time, providing (as a minimum level of detail) the following information.

1. What exactly happens?
2. Describe all sensations and pains. Each pain or sensation should be described in such a way that allows us to imagine having the same pain.
3. What causes the problem to get worse after it has started occurring?
4. What creates some relief for the problem?
5. What triggers the problem into occuring?
6. What time of the day or night does the problem occur?
7. When did the problem start? What was happening in your life at that time? Did some specific event or treatment take place just before the problem started?

Move from one problem to the next, doing the same thing. IT IS VITAL THAT YOU GIVE A COMPLETE PICTURE OF YOUR HEALTH BY PROVIDING ALL PROBLEMS YOU HAVE, EVEN IF NOT CONNECTED TO THE MAIN ONE, AND EVEN IF YOU CONSIDER IT OF LESS IMPORTANCE.

As well as this, please describe any traumatic indicidents that have taken place in your life. Discuss anything that has had a lasting impact on you mentally, emotionally or physically.

Discuss the way that you manage or deal with your problems, or any problems that occur in your life.

Discuss any patterns you have noticed in your behavior.

Discuss any part of your life where you feel stuck or unable to change and grow.

Describe your childhood and the kind of environment you grew up in, with reference to your relationships with your family, your school experiences, and any serious childhood diseases.

If your earlier discussions have not mentioned these already, please describe:

1. The specific foods that you crave (not just like) or hate
2. The specific drinks that you crave or hate
3. What your sleep is like
4. How the weather and the temperature affects you
5. What kinds of things in the environment you are particularly sensitive to
6. What your general level of energy is like
7. What your level of sexual energy or desire is like

Children's Questions:

1. What occured to the mother during pregnancy - new symptoms, illnesses, medical treatments, emotional stresses.

2. What problems occured during the birth?

3. What was happening in the mother's life around the time of conception?

4. What illnesses did both parents have for the 5 years or so preceding conception?

There is no telling at this point if it is an acute, or a chronic problem. For a chronic more details are needed for permanent cure (so things like history can be more relevent).

The only thing different I noticed around the time her rash appeared was that I had been drinking a lot more soda the week or 2 before than I usually do. I wonder if she was getting too much sugar in my breastmilk.

Have you tried eliminating the soda? It upsets the calcium balance in the body and might affect your milk. That would be the first thing to try, since that seems to be the main change around the time of her rash.

BTW, Congratuations on the unassisted home birth--I had my last baby the same way. Just another thing, I noted that you said that she nurses throughout the night. I did this too, but some of my babies got upset stomachs and diarrhea when I did this, and when I tried to only nurse them when they were truly hungry (about 3 hours), these problems went away. It may not be your issue, but I thought I'd share it in case you wanted to try.

Hmmm... a case with almost no symptoms. Difficult.

Describe more on the 'crankier at night'.

What kind of soda are you drinking?

How is your health at the moment? Sometimes the mother's symptoms can lead to a remedy that helps an infant, especially one that is breastfeeding.

We have hundreds of 'rash' remedies. Just need some more direction in choosing one - behavior, sleep, sweat, odour, colour of skin - can you give us anything else?

Oh and have you vaccinated your child at all or medicated it or yourself in anyway?

i am cutting out soda, as well as continuing to use topical lotions on her. trying olive oil today. She hasnt been cranky over it since the first few days. So at this point its only the rash. i've been drinking Dr. Pepper, about 1 can per day the past few weeks. my health is fine, no meds for either of us and she hasnt been vaccinated at all. i think its eczema at this point.

You might want to visit the following websites to understand a bit more about how homoeopathy works and what kind of information we need to make prescriptions.

You might not know this but there are over 5000 different medicines in homoeopathy, and over 200 of those are considered our common remedies.

I feel like I have a good understanding of homeopathy. I answered the questionnaire up there. I'm not sure how much information I can give about a baby....

Yes but there are almost no answers there that lead to a remedy.

Eczema, if that is what it is, is always an expression of the internal miasm (disease)which could be inherited, or it could be new for the child and triggered by something like medication or a disease.

When I take infant's cases, and there is a paucity of symptoms, sometimes the history of the parents can help. Sometimes I need to take the mother's case, and the same remedy will help the child.

Because there are few ways to tell what an infant is feeling, many other more objective observations must be used - movements and gestures, odour of discharges like urine sweat and stool, colour of discharges or skin, pattern of sleep, sensitivity to environmental factors like light sounds or smells.

Looking over the case as presented, there are no signposts pointing anywhere that I can see - nothing affects her, nothing is peculiar, almost no symptoms at all. Perhaps someone else can make a suggestion?

yeah other than the rash, she seems to have no other symptoms. she is generally very happy, just gets grumpy at nap/bedtime. maybe of help would be that i struggled with acne for years and pulsatilla is what finally cleared it up. maybe i should give her pulsatilla? i havent had much of any since before i got pregnant with her though
