Protruding Pilondal Cyst
Hello, my name is Vetta. I'm hoping I can get help with my cyst without surgery. It started as a bump about 2yrs a ago that felt like a marble in my buttocks whenever I laid on my back. There was no pain and I otherwise forgot it was there. I saw my MD in Feb/Mar 2011, as it was getting larger. I was referred to a Gen Surgeon who confirmed by looking that it was a pilonidal cyst, but since it wasn't bothering me (no pain), chose to do nothing and unless it was needed. Well, by May 2011 two pointed, raised bumps showed and by June 2011, they burst open with 2-3 abscess-appearing bumps. As of now, it has broken the the skin, and looks like 4 pinkish-red abscess on my skin protruding out on my right butt cheek. You can see it without separating. It is painful when I sit from time to time. I have been using lots of home remedies, like Turmeric, epsom salt, Ichthammol packs. I have used clay packs, but nothing has reduced or is taking it away. I also drink Apple Cider Vinegar 1-2 days a day for cleansing. After researching it, the surgery scares me and I'm really tring to avoid it, but it's stressing my husband out and he wants to get it done. I found out about homeopathy and started Dr. P. Varma's remedy and then realized he passed. So, as of 7/18/11, I did start Myristica Seb 200C, then after 2 days started Silicea 6C and Calcarea Sulph 6X. I did get yellow-greenish and bloody drainage, but my cysts are not bursting. On 7/23/11, I took another dose of Myristica 200C and again more yellow-greenish draining with blood, then it tapers to clear watery. I have also been using Belladonna 200C for pain when I can't sit too long. Again 2 days later started Silicea 6C and Calc Sulph 6x. A couple of times it was wasn't working and I took 200mg of Ibuprofen. I haven't taken that in over a week as the Belladonna seems to help now. I also sit on a hot water bottle from time to time as it does help with the pain also. As it seems to me that the cyst is the same, maybe larger, this past week, I took another dose of Myristica 200C today, 7/29/11. I was hoping for some guidance going forward. I've actually been able to sit longer with minimal pain and uncomfortability, so I guess the drainage is helping. Oh, I also apply the Calendula Cream around the area after cleanings. Would someone be able to help me going forward? I really don't wan't surgery. Thank you.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please take Myristica 200 daily until there is no discharge from the cyst ie drain the cyst as much as possible using myristica 200.

Thanks Kadwa! I will do that. I would like to confirm the dosage. Should I continue with the 3 doses per half hour everyday?

Please take one dose in the morning and one in the evening. One dose means 2 pills or 1 drop in some water. There is no need to take doses every hour.

OK. I have the pills, so I will continue with those. I'll give an update after a week or so. It's probably going to take a while, due to the size. Thanks again!

Hi Kadwa, Ive been taking the Myristica 200C and it does expel the pus throughout the day, however my abscess is still large, red, bloody and inflamed. It is also painful, if I sit too long. I have a long commute and desk job that contributes to the long sitting. While I do use Belladonna 200C for pain, I may use it once a day, if that. Im doing my normal activities and sleep well at night. However, to further reduce the pain and inflammation, I put Oil of Oregano or Tea Tree Oil on a cotton ball and place all around it and that allows me to be able to sit comfortably all day with minimal to no pain. My concern is that the abscess doesnt seem to go down. I wanted to know if there is anything else I could or should take in addition to the Myristica to reduce the size, blood & inflammation? Thanks again for your help.

Hi Kadwa! Just an update. I received the Calendula 200 on Saturday, sooner than I thought. I have been taking all meds to date. I'm still expelling pus which causes itching. My abscess is still large and only drains from the bottom part, near the buttock crease. It seeps from the top portions. It's also still red and bloody all around but not necessary bleeding. I still have pain for which I use a heating pad, which helps or take another dose of Belladona 200, if needed. I otherwise feel fine and doing my normal activities. I'm continuing on with the remedies you recommended. Thanks.

Hi Kadwa, things are the same and I'm still draining. My main problem is dealing with the pain from sitting all day. I have a desk job. I do take the Belladona 200 and use heat, but the effects do not last long. I've had to resort to using Ibuprofen so I can do other things and not be cranky. Is it ok to use Ibuprofen and/or can you recommend any other homeopathic meds for the pain. Thank you.
