Staph, Blood Sugar, A1C, & Hypothyroidism
In 2010, a rash appeared on both of my calves. Christmas Day of 2010, a huge blister formed on the the right calf. When it burst it left an open wound, because the skin peeled off. Once the wound healed, yes there was a scar but everything seemed to be okay.December 2011 I was told I have hypothyroidism, and put on medication, which seemed to be working; within 1 month, the thyroid numbers were leveling out and I'd lost 18 pounds. And that scar and rash were fading and getting smaller.
Then one week ago, the whole area on my right calf where the rash is and blister was, the first layer of skin just peeled off.
The dr. in the er said it was infected and gave me an antibotic (without doing any tests)[this was around 1am Central time] I was told to see a dr at the clinic that same day, so I did. He agreed it was infected, (and didn't do any tests either).
This past wed, i saw my regular dr who changed the dressing and told me I had to continue taking the antibotic 1 pill every 6 hours until the wound was healed, and then had to take it 1 pill every day for 6 more weeks, to clear out the infection, to make sure this never happened again.
Everyday taking the anitbotic, i would feel sick to my stomach after taking it; but dealt with it. Then yesterday I started to have diarhea with in 45 minutes - 1 hour after taking the antibotic, and could only stop it with anti-diarhea medication.
I called my doctor, who told me to stop taking the antibotic.
I saw my regular dr today for him to change the dressing on the wound, which is very slowly getting smaller. (he says {without doing any testing} that the infection is staph). When I asked about the antibotic he said the infection was gone....going completely against what he told me just 2 days ago.
I also found out that the hypothyroidism medication can raise my blood sugar while at the clinic, so when I got home I tested it, and it was 158. I instantly made some black tea and put some cinnamon in it and drank 2 cups; which then lowered my blood sugar back down below 100.
My question is, since I do not want my skin to continue peeling off, leaving open wounds that take months to heal; is there a natural way I can treat the staph, hypothyroidism, without raising my blood sugar or a1c level. I am at risk for being diabetic because it is strongly in my family.
Please can anyone help me, I'm very scared. I know staph can be dangerous and so can being diabetic.
PS: back in 2010 with that open wound, my dr did the same thing. They said it was an infection gave me an antibotic, which I promptly got hives from, the anitbotic was stopped and nothing was given in its place. Which is why my family and I believe this happened again.
Please, please help me.
Any and all suggestions are welcome.
