New thread about my son for brisbanehomeopath Page 4 of 6

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
He is more calm today and pretty good connection. His teacher made a special trip out to my car today to tell me how wonderful my son was today and what a good listener he was! After school we went to the park for a bit where he saw a kid from his class and was really happy to see him - they played together and my son even gave the other kid half of his sandwich (his favorite kind of sandwich!) without being asked! He shared all by himself! I guess it is still working...:)

Alright I just redosed him for the second time because he has been fussy, whining, and complaining, etc for the past few days, and acting a lot younger then his age in general (this is nothing new), also hyper and not as connected, with choppy speech. I am never really sure when exactly to redose him as it seems his has his good and bad days in no particular order almost. Saccharum seems to help with these issues, if only temporarily. I am wondering if it should be holding longer than this. He never had a remedy that produced good results for more than a few days, and I haven't had many long lasting results either so I am really not sure if I should be expecting that or not. I know this will take a lot of time, and many parents I have heard dose every few days or even daily! So I don't even know how long to expect a dose to last or anything. It is not so cut and dry as to when to leave it along, except in those first few days. This is the only remedy that has given all over results, but I don't know if they should be lasting longer than this and if I should just try the carc next time or not. I guess time will tell but I have a feeling I might be just as confused the next time as to what to do!

There are a lot of individual components to every case and to the responses you see. There should however always be an upward trend ie. even during relapse the patient never slips back all the way. If a person goes exactly back to how they were each time, then the remedy is most likely only palliating.

Generally speaking, the only people that need frequent dosing are those with physical pathology (tissue changes) or those who are on orthodox medication that is constantly suppressing the symptoms.

Having said that, occasionally you see people without these issues need a lot of the remedy. My experience in such situations has always been, that the remedy is only a partial similar. The simillimum, when found, always lasts longer with need for fewer doses. It is one of the definitions for it.

Where is he not changing at all?

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
It is not that he is not changing, because all symptoms are better and then they come back again, it is that there are ups and downs...he is up, then back to baseline and just when I think I should redose he is up again! He has been up and down like this on everything. I don't know if it is just normal days and I am waiting too long to dose or what. It's not totally getting the hyperactivity all the way though, but it is definitely better. Also, he gets a little teary about little things sometimes, but it is WAY better. Not a clear trajectory, that is the hard thing.

Before the dose he was being fussy, argumentative, clumsy, and generally difficult to deal with. Now he is much calmer and brought up some toys for us to play with with him. The atmosphere in the house is much calmer. I always feel relieved after I give him this remedy, with all the other ones I felt nervous. I don't know if that means anything or not. I know he might have an aggravation in a few days or so maybe but its always like I can breathe a little easier or something. Happiness, if temporary, lol.

He should not be going back to baseline. This is frequent total relapse, which shows palliation and not cure. Sacchrum is only acting on the symptoms and not the cause of the problem. And this is definitely indicated by a major symptom not improving regardless.

You need to change him to Carcinosinum as soon as possible.

The more you palliate, the more likely you are to suppress the disease and turn it into something more serious. We need to find a more complete solution.

Ok, then I probably shouldn't have redosed him then. It has helped noticeably within a short period of time, like within an hour or so. I don't really understand how he his symptoms could keep disappearing without a redose? When should I dose the Carsinosinum? Should I wait until he is acting like he needs a remedy? Could these two doses be a big problem? Thanks!

No you have not dosed enough to cause a real problem. I would wait until the relapse happens again before giving him the Carc.

Alright, thanks again. I have to admit I am nervous about moving to something else so quickly, but I am willing to give it a try!

allicando2 last decade
If you need to move quickly, that is the real problem. The only thing that matters is giving him the right remedy so that there is no need to move anywhere else (at least not for a significant amount of time).

I just mean after only two doses but if you don't see it going anywhere longterm then we shouldn't waste our time!

You have shed alot of light on my son here David I have had the exact same with my son and remedies , they are only very short lived like a few days and his behaviour is bad again nothing long term and never know how long a remedy should work, is it the same questions for every person as I will redo my sons tomorrow as he is causing arguments at home with his behaviour and I feel I cannot control him and now the younger one is copying him but i can control him.

If there is relapse back to the original presentation after 2 doses, I would need to consider that something is wrong with the prescription. I certainly wouldn't expect full cure from 2 doses.

Pixie I will make sure I get around to your son's cases soon as I can.

I don't think it was as bad as originally but I didn't let it get that far, it seemed like it was headed that way. I have to say I feel sentimental about this remedy, maybe only because it was our first experience with homeopathy and I had hope for the first time. I still remember that. But I trust your judgement, if I don't I will only be impeding things. I appreciate how thorough you are and my biggest hope is that we CAN find the right one, I can't lose hope!

Hi Pixie - It can be very confusing, but David is very thorough and has been so helpful with me and my son. Much luck to you with your son from one mama to another! :)

It's fine David but I feel allicando has given alot of info here which I would of missed, alot sounds like my child and alot mentioned that I would not of thought of, this thread has helped me and maybe I can give better detail now thank you both!

Well let's see what happens with this dose. It is very important that your reports are as precise as possible since my decision making relies entirely on them.

Thank you allicando there are similarities with our sons on the frustration side especially, and a few other little things too I will keep my eye on your post, certainly highlighted a few things with my son that I need to give information on thank you

Today his stomach hurt all of the sudden and then he had that huge amount of soft orange stool just like last time. Last time it was 2 1/2 days after the dose, this time it was 3 days.

That is an interesting reaction, but remedies often stimulate the excretory systems as part of the process of rebalancing the internal disturbance.

Something curious, before bed tonight my son was complaining that his knee was hurting him to walk (he didn't scrape it and there was no outward injury) and yesterday he briefly complained about pains in his wrist. The last time he was given Saccharum (in a lower potency, I think it was 30c), he also started getting hand and foot cramps and he would be screaming in pain, mostly at night. These are what I believe led in part to him being given cuprum metallicum. I don't know if these cramps/pains/whatever they are are part of him or are related to the remedy, but they used to come on the night that we dosed him every time, and I don't ever remember them before that.

bump it

That would suggest again the Sacch is only a partial similar, since the Simillimum should not do that.

Alright - I am planning on giving him the Carc next, just waiting and feeling him out on when to do that. It hasn't been that long since I dosed him and I don't want to overload him. Wondering how long I should give it.

allicando2 last decade
Hi David, I am still waiting to determine when to give my son the Carc. He seems fine but is still kind of hyper/restless/mischevious. I had someone ask me today if he had ADHD, and truthfully I don't know, (and think its kind of irrelevant) but he has no problem concentrating when its something of interest. Do you still think that Carc would be good for him? It is hard since you cannot see him, but I can try to post a video and send you the link if that would help. If you still think this would cover all his symptoms, how should I give it? (Two pellets dissolved in 8oz, succussed twice, 1 drop in 8oz, 1tsp of that in another 8oz and 1tsp of that to him)?

allicando2 last decade
He laughs a lot now and seems happy, although hyper. But if you talk about something he thinks isn't true (like earlier I was telling him about what countries our families came from) he got mad and said that is not true, I come from this country. His eyes teared up and he said it 'ticked' (other word for this but the forum won't allow it) him off. lol. Anything that he feels like you said that was either wrong or incorrect. He gets over it quicker than he used to, but this is still a problem.

And still needs attention all the time, a lot of his behaviors I think are attention seeking. I am having issues with him listening as well. A lot better that before homeopathy, but still don't want to have to say or ask something 5 times before I get an answer, he is connected but doesn't pay attention when thinking or speaking. Interrupts constantly too. Always dancing around acting like a goof and laughing hysterically about it, he thinks he is so funny.
