Chronic open severe anal fissure in 3 year old.

My son was born with spina bifida leaving him incontinent to bowel and bladder. He stools throughout the day, about 5 times I'd say. Not usually hard stools which makes his fissure unique. He has no anal tone at all and no innervation or spasms. This fissure started after a course of antibiotics for a UTI, that always flares up his bum. A small crack was seen and usually I can maintain that with powders and creams and it will heal, but for some reason it did not. We are now three months out and docs are talking surgery. I am going to try Manuka honey as that is one thing I have not done yet. An ND had him taking Phosphorus but it seemed he was getting very irritable and I took him off of it. I read here about Silicia (sp?) and wondering if that might be better for him? What other info is needed to help determine a possible remedy? Looking at the area I cannot fathom how it will come together on it's own but I want to avoid surgery and know that when supported properly the body has amazing abilities to heal itself. Pls advise!

Geez that's a lot! I'll do my best:

5. weight: 25 lbs
6. Height: unsure
7. country: US
8. climate: HOT and humid
9. List of your complaints: unhealing anal fissure, sometimes bleeds out; food alleriges

10. Since how long are you suffering from each complaint: anal fissure for 3 months now

11. Diabetic or non-Diabetic: not
12. Desire sweets/sour/salt: none really, he eats well and has no cravings
13. Thirst: normal, drinks water, rice milk and diluted fruit juice
14. Tongue and Taste: ?
15. Current BP (without medicine and with medicine): normal but don't know exact, as a baby he was on BP meds for high BP. i eventually weaned him off and he has been ok.

16. What exactly is happening?: just not healing!

25. Current and previous remedies/medicines you are taking or took in the past?: bathe in tea tree oil, topical coconut oil, tried homeopathic phosphorus for a few weeks (seemed irritated on it so i took him off), since he is incontinent to bowel we started a bowel program but that seemed to make the fissure worse, he also takes probiotics, cranberry extract and supplements daily. i cover the area with stoma powder and sensicare cream daily.

26. Family Background: as in...?

29. Desires, likes and dislikes for food: not too picky, but allergic to milk, tree nuts, bananas, avacadoes, peaches

30. Name of foods which increase your problem: see above but cannot pinpoint foods that make the fissure better or worse.

32. Aggravation (increases-time, season,)& Amelioration (Decreases): cannot pinpoint

33. Attached here your photographs of the affected area. (if required/optional): i do have them but they are graphic bc of the location. will post or message with permission if desired.

34. Location of the disease: posterior side of anus but on the outside edge, about two fingers width of an opening to smooth muscle

35. Side of the problem (Right or Left), (Upper or Lower part of body): midline

36. Color of the secretions/discharges e.g urine, stool, sputum, Saliva etc. sometimes will bleed out but not always. otherwise just red smooth muscle is visible. (he has no sensation thank goodness!)

Thanks.

Tell me about the pain?

Is there any pus, if yes, what color?

How do you know it is a fissure?

You may email me the pics?

Docs have diagnosed it as a fissure. It started out as a crack after a round of antibiotics from irritation in the gut. It's happened before and has always just healed back up but this time it just opened more and more. :( He has no sensation so it is not painful at this time (spina bifida, paralyzed waist down without sensation or movement). There is no pus at all. Post your email and I will do that.

Hi,

Please give your son Nitricum Acidum 30C, 1 drop mixed in 1 teaspoonful of mineral water, 3 times a day, for 4 days.

Report progress after 2 adys.

Many many prayers for the speedy recovery of The Beautiful Soul.

Regards
Nawaz

I have been told by an ND in Mexico that mineral water is one of the worst things u can drink....I have not researched on this. Can I use another kind?

valleygirl last decade
You may use spring water.

Unfortunately I cannot find this locally, will need to order online. Started Manuka honey today though topically.

The homeopathy is to be taken internally, right? Just making sure.

Thanks. I read just now that pellets contain lactose, with a severe dairy allergy does this affect? The liquid is more $$$ but of course if that is better, will go that route.

valleygirl last decade
Go with the liquid. Many homeopaths
prefer the liquid.

Ok, thanks.

Good!

Thanks Simone.

Going on day 3 (took a while to get the stuff shipped!) Following as prescribed and just like last homepathic (phosphorus tabs) he seems to b having behavioral issues, more on edge and with temper, hard to take a nap. I thought last time it was because he is severely allergic to dairy and I saw the tabs contain lactose.

Anyways, regarding the fissure, we think it continues to look worse. I changed 2 bloody diapers today and I assume the juice he had in the morning made it too acidic because that was the only change, it was not bleeding before. However it looks like it's starting to channel a bit and that worries me. I will continue with the remedy for now and am seeking second opinions as well from the medical world. I am also still applying manuka honey when I can.

Isn't it good that the blood is flowing to that area now?

Your boy needs Berberis Vulgaris Q to take care of bleeding.

nawazkhan last decade
I hadn't thought about it that way...this has happened before too though so it's not 'new' per se. I did remember though that I gave him liquid vitamin C last night and I bet that was the culprit more than the juice. Will see. It seems to have settled down now. I'll keep u posted. Really really need to see some kind of improvement soon.

Will do. Thanks for the tip.

Trying...but there is SOOOO much to sift through! Is there a search somewhere that I am missing? The thing with my son's issue is that it is coupled with a rectal prolapse.

valleygirl last decade
I just wanted you to see how the process
works, watching what occurs after a remedy, then that tells the homeopath
what to do next, etc. It does take some
time , that's all.

Take care,

One must never self-prescribe as the homoeopathic remedies are very powerful with serious side effects.

Thanks Simone for helping this lady.

nawazkhan last decade
Ok. I guess since it was originally mentioned to take for 4 days that I would be seeing improvements by now. I do realize that I never mentioned that the doc is now saying he has a rectal prolapse. Which is evident when he is pushing because of the no muscle tone everything just looks like it's going to spill out. Hopefully this does not change anything with what I should do. Should I just continue a few more days with current treatment (which was 2 times today instead of 3, completely missed one, does that mess everything up?)

valleygirl last decade
Missing one dose is not going to mess
up anything-don't worry.

The homeopathy is a process especially
with the problems of your son, that
requires working with Nawaz over a
period of time and different remedies
as things change little by little and get
better and stay that way. It is going to
require patience and trust , and Nawaz'
patients do trust him for good reason.

I am sure as you keep going you will get
more comfortable with how all of this
works.

Best to you and your family!

Just checking in. Still going with the remedy and doing my best to keep it three times a day (some days are harder than others...my motivation goes down because I get so desperate to see SOMETHING good). Just received an oil blend to try and will add that into the mix as well.
