This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Dose is decided on the basis of several things.
1. What is the intensity of the illness? Intensity is measuted by looking at the whole case.
2. How sensitive is the patient to homoeopathic potencies? This is often unknown in the beginning so it is best to assume the are sensitive until proven otherwise.
3. How much tissue change is present in the body that might aggravate and harm the patient? If there are extensive tissue changes (pathology) a remedy given to frequently can stimulate their disease into aggravation and put them in hospital. If you suspect pathology or do not know, it is again best to be cautious in the begininng until you are sure.
Potency selection has guidelines too, which are similar to above and have some extra considerations. Why did you decide on such a high potency like 200c? That potency would imply your disease is quite serious and intense, or is being expressed with a lot of emtional distress and peculiar symptoms unique to Ant-crude.
If you are self-prescribing for a chronic complaint, which in most cases fails or causes further problems, you may open yourself up to side effects that can be difficult to get rid of. Only by making sure the remedy is very precisely suited to your overall condition can you be sure that it will not harm you.
This means, for Ant-crude to work, you would not only have to have specific Ant-c warts, but Ant-c skin, Ant-c digestion, Ant-c feelings, Ant-c sleep, Ant-c sensitivities, and so on.
While I disapprove of people using our medicines without proper knowledge of them, if you are going to go ahead and do it anyway, you should always start with a single dose and see what has happened after a week.
