Toddler with GastroIntestinal Reflux
My 17 month old son has had a history of gastro intestinal/esophageal reflux. It first became apparent around 6 months of age, and his doctor prescribed Zantac. I gave him half the dosage prescribed and it seemed to help, but after 6 weeks or so would appear to stop working, so I would take him off of it entirely for about a week and then try again. Around a year old he no longer seemed to be having the symptoms of this, so we discontinued treating him with Zantac. Now at about 16 months, he is again showing signs of having reflux, primarily at night. His symptoms include burping up acid, crying out and arching his back, 'vomit' smell to his breath and tenderness in his back during an episode. I really don't want to put him back on Zantac and am wondering if Nat Phos 6X or any other homeopathic remedies would work, especially as his case isn't severe and seems to be largely taking place at night in his sleep. Any suggestions would be appreciated, and I would want to know dosing instructions as well.Jbatey on 2013-10-15

See how that works for a couple days.
What is his diet like? Is he having chocolate or candy or
daily ice cream. anything like that? Has he had
antibiotics in the last 6 months?

Thanks, Simone! His diet is very good- he eats no dairy or gluten as both seemed to aggravate the condition, and eats lots of fruits and veggies, largely organic meats, and whole grains that don't contain gluten. No antibiotics for 6 months.

Hi,
see how this works for a couple days, you can reduce
the doses etc as you notice relief. If you don't have
good results I would suggest working with Lia Bello
a nurse homeopath in New Mexico or Mary Aspinwall
a master homeopath in Santa Barbara. This is considered
an 'acute' problem and they will work with you on the
phone on correct remedy selection. The cost is $50.
With kids I think it is a good idea to have a relationship
with a real homeopath that you can call almost
anytime for help when needed.
