The ABC Homeopathy Forum
which potency aggrevates...
I have had aggrevations to LM potencies and 30C potency (dry dosing) and there is always a rollercoaster effect with mixed improvements and mixed worsening of symptomsa new homeopath has perscribed me Medorrhinum, 1M and told me to use it by oflaction sniffing method as it is much gentler.
i have read mixed reports...my homeopath said statistically in his experience he has had more aggravations in LOW potencies than 1m and that 1m is a gentle dose.
he also said if i start to feel too good. or too euphoric that we would need to partially antidote to avoid a crash and same with feeling too bad. we would adjust based on reaction.
i am super sensitive and very easily over stimulated...the snifffing method sounds good. but what is with this interesting topic that 1m produces less aggrevations??

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
No that is incorrect. The potency that will cause an overreaction is one that is too high, not too low, when it is the potency itself that causes the problem.
However, overreaction does not only happen because of the potency. Natural patient sensitivity (or unnatural if caused by overmedication), too large a dose (such as when dry doses are used), too frequent dosing, the presence of significant tissue changes especially in the organs, or a history of suppression of symptoms with other kinds of medication (including inappropriately used homoeopathic ones). Low or high potencies can cause excessive aggravations in such situations.
The reason your homoeopath hasn't seen as many aggravations on 1M is because fewer people will react at all to this potency. The lower potencies will have a much broader effect, and many more people will react to them. The higher you go in potency, the more precise the prescription must be or it will have little if any effect at all. It is not because it is gentler.
High potencies are a problematic issue for people with low vitality - those who have been sick for a long time, those who are old, those who have been very heavily medicated and all their symptoms suppressed for years, those who have been close to death. Low vitality patients, when given a high potency, will be overwhelmed by its power, and will not only display a significant worsening of their own symptoms but will display new ones related to the remedy as well (proving).
Creating such a reaction in a low vitality patient can seriously harm them, even cause them to go into a fatal decline. Dr. Kent, one of the great old masters of homoeopathy, warned against using anything over 30 or 200c in such patients if you wanted to keep them alive.
I am unconvinced of the need to antidote feeling good. I have seen this reaction very frequently in clinic, and never needed to do anything but watch and wait. People always fall back to a more normal way of feeling on their own without any need for intervention, and I do not see a crash afterwards if it is the correct remedy for them. Giving more remedies in the middle of treatment is very risky without good reason - you would only do it if the patient is in some kind of danger or is suffering too much.

I will put your link on from the other thread, so Evocationer can see what is going on with you.
There are too many things going on with your health
to give you an answer.
Your case would have to be taken, that is the only
way to figure it out.

Everything on here is free.
It seems like wherever you are you can switch
homeopaths quite easily. You need a very hands on
person who is willing to monitor your situation.
If you want to let me know your city, country,
perhaps I can find you some good options of
people qualified to that.

I don't know if he would consider this too difficult to

I'll have a look at it and see what I think.
Simone is right - sometimes online treatment just presents too many obstacles to finding the right remedy for someone.

There isn't enough information on any of your previous posts for me to judge. If you want to make a new thread and answer all of the following questions, I will tell you what I think.
CASE PRESENTATION FOR CLASSICAL HOMOEOPATHIC PRESCRIBING
General Guidelines:
1. Try to be as descriptive as possible. When describing pains or sensations use descriptions along the lines of feels as if someone is squeezing it with their hand or it is like an insect crawling around inside or it is as if someone is standing over me threatening to kill me. Long descriptions are always better than short ones. One word answers are difficult to use successfully.
2. Another important part of symptom description for homoeopathy are the modalities. These are situations, events, activities or conditions which modify the symptom in some way. We usually refer to this as what makes them better or worse (amelioration/aggravation). The situation may actually provoke the symptom into appearing, make it vanish altogether, or just increase or decrease it in some way. Modalities are vital information for prescribing.
Modalities are typically related to (but not exclusively) the following situations:
A. Temperature, weather
B. Time (day, night, specific times, frequency, periodicity, season)
C. Position, activity
D. Emotions, thoughts
E. Food and drink
F. Drugs, medication
3. How the symptom is perceived is important too odour, appearance, sound, touch. What colour is it, what is its texture? For gestures, describe what it looks like the patient is doing, or what you feel you are doing while making the movement eg. they look like they are swatting flies or I feel like something is pushing my hand upwards or it is like I stick a fork in an electrical outlet which throws my body backwards. Description it is key to accurate prescriptions.
4. When did the symptom or set of symptoms start? The apparent cause can be useful in determining the remedy, although it is not of the same importance as the previous factors. It may have been a specific event, a disease, an accident or even an emotional experience.
5. Use your own words. Do not copy phrases or descriptions found in our various remedy pictures. Try not to use other peoples ideas or thoughts or words. If you are reporting on behalf of someone else, report their exact words, however you can also report your own observations of them (not opinions).
6. Does the symptom occur alongside another specific symptom? Do particular symptoms only occur together? Does a particular symptom occur with a particular thought or emotion? For example, a headache that always comes with visual disturbances, or stomach pain that appears alongside anger, or anxiety that makes you feel like running down the street screaming.
7. Each complaint should be described fully before going on to describe another complaint. Try not to mix different symptoms or complaints together. Each modifying feature must be clearly attached to a particular symptom/set of symptoms. Any mistake you make here is a mistake the homoeopath will also then make.
BEFORE MOVING ON TO THE NEXT SET OF QUESTIONS, DO THIS NOW FOR EACH PHYSICAL PROBLEM YOU HAVE. LOOK AT ANY POSSIBLE SYMPTOM YOU HAVE, NOT JUST THE ONE YOU ARE ASKING FOR HELP IN RESOLVING.

MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL DESCRIPTION
(Please spend the most time on this section and give DETAILED answers - the homoeopathic remedy is very often decided on the basis of the mental and emotional state of the patient!)
1. What are the issues in your life that bother you the most. Not physical issues but mental or emotional ones. List each one separately and describe why each one bothers you so much and how you cope with them.
2. What emotions are the most troublesome for you? What situations provoke these emotions. How do these emotions make you act? Do you feel any ill effects from expressing or not expressing these emotions.
3. What incidents in your life have had a deep impact on you? Describe each incident in detail and how they made you feel? What did you do in those situations? What effect have they had on your life?
4. What are you afraid of? Especially important are phobias, but it might be objects, situations or events that just produce a high level of anxiety. How do you manage your fears? How do you react when confronted with these fears? What would be the worst situation for you to be put in that would provoke these fears? You may need to talk about each fear/anxiety separately.
5. What hobbies do you have? Why do you like each of these activities?
6. Do you have any persistent thoughts, ideas or beliefs that are difficult to stop or cope with? What are they?
7. Do you have any unusual gestures or movements of the body? Do you feel any unusual sensation or pain throughout your body? What exactly does it feel like is happening in your body?
8. When you experience your fears, persistent thoughts, or difficult emotions, what kind of sensation or reactions do you get in your body?
9. When did you feel at your best in your life? What was that like for you? If you imagine the complete opposite of this feeling or moment, what would that be like?
10. Do you feel like you are stuck in a pattern of behavior, especially when trying to deal with your problems? What is this pattern? THIS IS AN IMPORTANT QUESTION PLEASE CONSIDER CAREFULLY AND GIVE DETAILS.
11. What difficulties or problems do you have in relationships? Talk about your family, your romantic relationships, your spouse or partner, your friends, and your work colleagues. You may need to talk about all of these separately.
12. List 5 positive things about yourself. Are there any situations where this positive attribute becomes negative (is a problem)?
13. List 5 negative things about yourself. Are there any situations where this negative attribute becomes positive (is useful)?
14. Do you have any reoccurring dreams? Describe them in detail, including any feelings that come while dreaming. Dreams are very important in unlocking the deepest truth of a patients case, but it is not enough to simply describe them in a sentence. Give as much information as you feel comfortable doing.
15. Did you have any reoccurring dreams as a child, or earlier in your life? Describe those in detail including any feelings that came with them.
16. What were you like as a child, your character, your personality, your fears, your dreams, your problems?
17. What kind of environment did you grow up in? What problems where there at home, with your family, with your parents, with your siblings, with school?

1. What are the issues in your life that bothe mental or emotional ones. List each one sep bothers you so much and how you cope with
I have issues with obsessing over my emotions and I always miss the point i want to get across and end up 'would of should of" i am VERY sensitive to peoples comments always on defense as I just want to be treated fairky and nicely and with respect. I want to be heard and listened to. I feel misunderstood by the world. I am distant from my family due to this as well. I feel when i speak my side no one will listen or comply. I am very sensitive to critisism UNLESS it is constructive. Especially to people i care about. I hate it when people try to dominate me in conversation. Im a nice guy and i want to be treated the way i treat others. I am also passive as sometimes i dont get to state my side of things and end up obsessing about it. I also feel lonely (i am gay) and want a partner but I need a partner who is adventerous, and challenges me on all levels because i get bored very easy. Cannot live in one place for too long. Desire to travel the world. Hate paper commitments or anything that can pull gravity and restrict my freedom from up and leaving. I like to be sexually teased but with a loving intent like an older brother or mentor playing coach with a reward at the end. I like adrenaline. I have a fear of heights and snakes but i love to be on heights due to adrenaline and snakes intrugue me. I love dogs so much...and i always have a fear of losing a dog or my mother or anyone close to me and often play it out in my head over and over. I dont ever feel emotionallt safe and often seek that stability but never found it. I have a fantasy of falling off a cliff and being rescued by a guy last second and slipping from his grip (opening scene of cliffhanger movie arouses me)
2. What emotions are the most troublesome emotions. How do these emotions make you expressing or not expressing these emotions
I usually build up emotion until the same situation happens over and over. I dont break down easy but i instead become a smart allic or sassy as a way of defense when i feel threatened BUT it takes a while to get to that point and if it is someone i care about i may eventually break down.
3. What incidents in your life have had a dee in detail and how they made you feel? What effect have they had on your life?
When i was 4 my mom took me and my siblings across country without my dad knowing. My mom has ptsd and a lot of mental issues. My dad found us and took us away frim her the cops were there was very traumatic. He is a pilot so when he was flying we stayed with pastor's family. We then met up with my mom a year later and i had seperation anxiety the next few years and slept in her bed the next five years. There was a big custody battle and that was traumatizing too.
I was sexually molested as a child by my dads pastor but rarely remember. He made me feel soothing and at ease so i was in a shock state. My mind covers it up by sexually fantasizing a challenging coach or mentor making me climb to them on my own until i reach their hand to be rescued. I cannot seperate adrenaline without love and love without danger and danger without emotion. Its all meaningful.
I was raised by my mom and sister. We moved a lot. I was telepathically close with my mom. She always emotiinally relied on me. My fathr remarried and had a new family i was always jealous of. I felt black sheep when visiting them and my othrr sister and older brother who lived with my dad n step mom n step brothers were suicidle. My mom became an alcoholic while growing up which was annoying and irritating. My sister was nice and mean and so i often felt alone. I had a hard time fitting in at school usually but i always had some friends.
I longed to be in california by the ocean. I love the water. I also love the desert and the mountains. I feel connected to the ocean and desert and mountains I write poems about them. Descriptive poems. I need to escape to it. I feel safe in the desert and mountains enclosed and land locked but i feel happy and euphoric in the sea.
4. What are you afraid of? Especially importa situations or events that just produce a high your fears? How do you react when confront worst situation for you to be put in that woul talk about each fear/anxiety separately.
I am afriad that my illness will kill me eventually. I am afriad to fail in life. I am afriad of wasting away. I feel i look ugly if my illness gets the best of me.
When confronted my heart rate speeds up. I often get anxiety. I tremble and become shaky Fight or flight. Adrenaline. Butterflies. I overreact to critisism as my mother does too. I want to be respected and talked to nicely.
5. What hobbies do you have? Why do you li
I like writing poetry but not anymore because i lost concentration due to illness. I like bodysurfing ways but not anymore because water makes me dizzy when trapped in head. I like hiking in the mountains but i am too weak to hike. I miss hanging out with friends and laughter...but am too sick now. My anxiety is at a full time high. I like traveling. I taught myself some songs on ukulele but lost the instrument. I like push ups because its the only thing making me feel strong. I also enjoy social conversation and learning about cultures from all over the world. Before i got sick i was a massage therapist. I like making people feel better.
6. Do you have any persistent thoughts, idea cope with? What are they? I obsess about breaking free from my illness. I want to live I listen to music and day dream about traveling and dancing. I want to learn polynesian dance. I want to join a canoe team. I want to do so much and thrive. I want to show those i care about who I really am. I also miss having fun and partying but i never was a huge partyer...always somewhat introverted and extroverted WHEN i feel comfortable.
7. Do you have any unusual gestures or mov unusual sensation or pain throughout your b happening in your body?
I am always dizzy and feel like im swimming and floating or dreaming. My head is foggy and feels like it weighs more then it does and moves faster then it should. The world looks too bright and shiny ajd sharp...im sensitive to everything. I walk like im drunk.
8. When you experience your fears, persisten kind of sensation or reactions do you get in y
I obsess and then i try not to think about it.
9. When did you feel at your best in your life imagine the complete opposite of this feelin
I felt the best age 14 running on the beach in california visiting my aunt away from the annoyance of my drunken mother and the blacksheep feeling of my step family. I felt alive...by the ocean in the warm sun running jogging breaking free.
I also was somewhat materialistic in high school i cared what others thought because i did not want to be viewed as poor i wanted to feel normal
