Pulsatilla dosage for cat please
Greetings:Am hoping for some guidance for a 13 yr old male bengal cat with IBD. He is having a major flare up after moving house a few weeks ago. He's also stressed because I cannot let him outside as often as usual until he learns the area. He cries alot and has little control over his stools (goes outside box which can occur with IBD).
I started him on Arnica 9 and then 30 for blood tinged stools and discomfort. Then to 7 Pulsatilla on advice of a pharmacist in France where we live. But my research suggests a higher number (30?) due to the emotional aspect.
What dosage would you recommend, please? He's had loose bowels for a few years, then had a serious bout of acute Pancreatitis about a year ago. Tried all western meds and diet changes. Nothing has worked except Prednisone somewhat, but there are risks of long term use. He has made progress overall but the cramping/urging of bowels is the most remarkable symptom.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Best to you.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Nux Vomica 30 should work better than Pulsatilla 30. One dose means 2 pills or drops dissolved in some water and few sips thereof.

Thank you, Kadwa.
He was on Nux V. 7 for while until I tried 30c which helped a bit, before the move. But not since.
If I give him the Pul. 30c, is the dose the same as the Nux?
Thanks again!

Dear Kadwa
There is blood in bowels meaning tissue damage and belongs to syphilitic miasm.
After Puls., you may consider Phos. doses as just a while back pancreas has been involved.
Sorry for interfering in your cases but i know you are the only person who will not take it in a wrong way and also selfless :)
Thanks

Can anyone please tell me what dose I should use now. He responded well to 30 c at twice/day for 3 days (thank you Kadwa!).
His stools are fewer but he's still been outside the box more. I also noticed that he is sometimes has stools that "squirt." They come quickly and are the consistency of toothpaste (and a bit smelly).
Would 200c be ok to try now...or...?
Thank you very much for any help!

Hi Kadwa:
Quick update:
Sadly, the Phosphorus made him so much worse. I gave him him 80% of the dose but it made his stools much more liquid, and he went outside of the litter box more.
So I gave him Pulsatilla 200, and his stools became more normal, though he still sometimes goes outside the box. He sometimes has sudden urges and can't quite make it to the box.
If the urges continue, I understand there is a remedy for that which starts with the letter "A" but I cannot recall. It's not a common one.
His fur is also looking a bit rough which is what happened when his pancreas was acting up.
Thanks so much for any further guidance, Kadwa.

You may test Antimonium Crud 200.

Oh Phos did not help here. Thanks Kadwa for following it up. Still I'm not getting any email alerts so it's hard to know if somebody has updated the thread or not. So i'm very late here.
