Attn: healthyworld: Daughter with cough
My daughter 7.5yrs old had throat pain and sputum when she woke up today. She was saying that i can spit it out. I have her honey water with breakfast and then brufen and a cough syrup to survive the school time. Her nose is not runny, all the mucus is in the chest and sore throat. I live in a joint family and my husband, mil, me and my 3 yrs old son all had this. My son and me are still coughing.Cough is very forceful. My husband and mil took antibiotics so they are fine. I want to avoid antibiotics so kindly suggest a remedy.Btw she was having nux vomica before this cough as she does not go to toilet everyday.
She had three doses of bryonia30..the next day she had throat ache when she got up for school.. A ball of sputum in her throat and was crying.. Her cough is very deep difficult for her to clear her throat and spit it out.. On and off she is complaining of stomach ache as well..yesterday and today early morning i gave her hepar sulphur30 two does 12 hours apart. She has very hoarse and deep cough. When i gave her warm water with honey in the morning she was better.
Kindly suggest.

is it a dry cough usually?
Dry coughing from tickling in throat in the morning?
Worse when turning on side and taking a deep breath?
Morning cough with expectoration?
Rawness and soreness of throat? with expectoration of lumpy mucus.

I am becoming confused again. Why are you posting details of 2 persons in a thread?
You have answered the questions. But for which child? 3 years? or 7.5 years?

Hold on Merc Sol
Give a dose of Spongia 200
5drops+ 20ml water
Shake the bottle 12 times and Give only 5ml from it in the morning.
Wait for the result.
If cough is not becoming soft, then give another dose next morning.
Merc Sol 30 may be used observing her situations. And hepar sulp 200 too.
But Now: Only Spongia 200
*** Do not give Hepar Sulph it cough is dry.

Cough seems more soft? If Cough seems hard Give another dose of Spongia 200 in the same way. If cough seems soft and no breathing problem then Give a dose of Hepar Sulph 200

From the last two months her stomach is giving trouble.. Once she had to use antibiotics.. Ciproxcin but she complains a lot of stomach ache.. Doesn't want to eat.. Mouth taste is not good.. Stomach is more loose.. Watery almost twice a week.. Sometimes she gets up for passing urine at night...she is thin.. Slightly pale.. Her attitude is very volatile.. Twice during this time I gave her Nux-vomica 30.. Only couple of doses..
