Help! Gave Wrong Remedy to My Cat
I meant to give Phosphorus 30c to my cat for her stomatitis. I accidently gave her Phosphoricum Acidum. It's Thursday night, and I can't get ahold of the homeopathic vet. The only antidote listed is coffee, which is poisonous to cats. Any suggestions? He won't be back until Monday.LagunaMom on 2020-01-17
This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
You don't have to antidote if your cat didn't react to the remedy.
Usually, wrong remedy does not do anything unless you or the cat is exceptionally ”Sensitive” meaning you react to whatever you take including wrong ones but
If you are worried, and want to give something, then give Camphor 30 or Coffea 30 just a dose or two. It may help to antidote the remedy.

As I wrote, coffee can kill a cat. I decided to open a jar of Vicks Vapo Rub and let her smell it a couple of times. Thanks.

Coffea 30c which does not contain a real coffee will not kill your cat.
And no need to panic about giving a wrong remedy. Homeopathic remedies are nothing but water and energy. They can't possibly create real pathology.

I've had very nasty provings/aggravations (sometimes simultaneously, my MD says) from LMs.
Got ahold of my homeopathic MD this morn. She said that cats and kids should be okay with remedies if they're wrong.
I let the cat smell Vicks Vapo Rub last night a couple of times, gave her some bentonite, and then properly dose her with Phos 30 this morn. She's okay.

First of all, Aggravation and proving are totally different things.
Aggravation is a temporary aggravation of already existing symptoms, usually, the chief complains.
Proving is a symptom that you have never had before the remedy, and you can find the symptom in material medica Here, you have to go through many materia medica to find the exact symptom as not every materia medica are written in the same way.
Many people are confused between aggravation a and proving and something nasty happens, they think they are proving the remedy!
And many are so afraid of proving, but our founder Hahnemann said in his book, the Organon ; when partial proving happens toward the end of the treatment, it is a good sign and when you stop taking the remedy, the proving symptom disappear and the cure remain for a long time.
And it also tells us that the patient is sensitive and responsive to the remedy so they have great potential to heal completely.
And I don't understand why your homeo MD telling you it's ok for kids and cats to take a wrong remedy. It doesn't make sense to me at all and if homeopaths have to give the exactly the right remedy every time, then homeopathy didn't exist for over 200 years!

She said that if they're not particularly sensitive to the remedy, they probably shouldn't feel it.
She--and I--both know the difference between an aggravation and a proving. Unfortunately, I was poisoned by pesticides 35 years ago, and my neurological and immune systems are still screwed-up. I am rare. On occasion, I both prove and aggravate in different systems.
My homeopath is not just an MD (integrative cardiologist). She teaches at the American Medical College of Homeopathy and is a member of the State Board of Homeopathic and Integrative Medical Examiners. (Homeopaths need to be licensed in my state.) She knows her stuff.

Sensitivity and susceptibility are individual things so children can be sensitive and react to the wrong remedies.
I have had some super-sensitive kids in my clinic who can prove a remedy and get all sorts of aggravations so imagine if I start telling their parents that they shouldn't be feeling what they are feeling because children are not suppose to get a bad reaction from taking a wrong remedy... I wI'll be out of business in no time!
I hope your MD homeopath said such a thing out of compassion because she heard that you are panicking over the phone.

Bottom line is that the cat is fine.
Between smelling the camphor and a little bentonite, I was able to give her the correct remedy the next day without a problem.
