Ear Polyps in cats. Help please!

We rescued a tiny (1lb) neglected orange kitten from the yard. He had ear problems, brown wax, shaking his head and tilting it to the side. Vet put him on a topical antibiotic but he developed an inner ear infection making him stagger and throw up. Animal Emergency said he has a Polyp in his ear canal that has ruptured the eardrum and his other eardrum is bulging also.
Poor little Teddy has gained 2lbs and seems better, plays happily with our other cats, but they said he must have the ear canal removed to prevent reoccurring.

We can't afford it and it sounds horrific. He would also be left deaf
Has anyone successfully treated ear polyps, and shrunk them? We will lose him if we cannot treat this.I just started him on a Hepar sulph calc pollute twice a day, 30c, but I don't know the right dosage for him.
