The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Bloating with weight gain, edema around ankles, GERD, anemia, low libido and bone spurs in toes

I am in my 40s with chronic hypothyroidism (after full thyroid removal), on thyroid meds, with constipation, weight gain, low energy, brain fog, low libido, PMS, hormonal acne, hair loss, bloating, GERD/acid reflux, bone spurs/arthritis in my toes, anemia, etc. My conventional doctor said my thyroid bloodwork was fine and I am in perimenopause.

For the past 6 months, I have been on Calc. I was first on Calc 6C twice a day, then 30C once a day, and now I am on 200C, initially every 3 days and now every 8-12 days.

Over time, my energy has improved, no more brain fog, no constipation, no hormonal acne, and my PMS and hair are so much better.

I still have bloating with weight gain, some swelling around my ankles, low libido, anemia, GERD/acid reflux if I eat anything after 7 pm, and bone spurs/calcifications with some arthritis in both toes.

Will Calc 200C eventually heal all of these, or should another remedy be added? If so, in what order should these be addressed and with what remedy? Thank you so much.

Thank you Anuj! I will acquire these and report back. May I ask about Lycopodium as well? Would that be an advisable addition to Calc 200C for bloating with weight gain? If so, in what potency and frequency?

Also, Ferrum Phos is not available in 6X potency in the US. OK to buy 8X instead and take 5 tabs 3 times a day? Thank you!

As of now I will suggest Lachesis 200 biweekly dose.Stop Calc.

Hello! It took me a bit to obtain NAT PHOS 6X, KALI MUR 6X, and FERRUM PHOS 6X, but I finally got all of them.

I have been using them for two weeks, before meals (2 times per day). I noticed improvements in GERD, and swelling around ankles (most days), the rest is the same. Is it ok to continue?

In general, for how long should homeopathic remedies be taken before one can expect permanent resolution of all symptoms? Is it usually weeks, months, years? Thank you!

HAVE YOU TAKEN LACHESIS?

CONTINUE SAME PROTOCOL AND FEEDBACK AFTER A WEEK.

anuj srivastava 2 years ago
Thank you so much for your reply! I was able to order LACHESIS MUTUS 200CK from Boiron. I am waiting for it to arrive. It says it's for "hot flashes" which I do not have (as of now). Did I order the correct one?

When you say "biweekly dose," do you mean 5 pellets once per day every two weeks? Thank you!

Weekly feedback:

I took Lachesis 200 last week Monday (one dose only). A few acne appeared 1-2 days after - right side of neck, right side of lip, right side of chin. When I was taking Calc 200, acne were in very similar places, but on the left side. They are better now, the only ones still visible are two on the right side of neck. They were larger and cystic, the others were not. Overall, my skin/face looks brighter.

I have gained 2 lbs even though I eat less and work out more. Some water retention/edema. I have some breast tenderness as well, but manageable (this is an old symptom that disappeared after taking Calc for a while).

GERD is much better. I am waking up without burning in my throat. My energy level is good, but I did start waking up during the night to go to the bathroom. I also have times when I feel hot - those come and go. I had some sleep and temp aggravations with Calc as well - they went away with time.

Pain due to bone spurs/arthritis in both big toes is still there. I can walk and work out, but I can feel the discomfort/soreness. I think the pain is less than when I was on Calc. Really trying to avoid surgical intervention (podiatrist said the recovery time would be up to 6 weeks per foot).

Are all these “aggravations” before healing? So far, they are all manageable. Please let me know if I should continue. Thank you very much for your guidance.

HAVE ONLY CELL SALTS AND GIVE A FEEDBACK AFTER 4 DAYS.

anuj srivastava 2 years ago
It has been two weeks since the first Lachesis 200 dose. Acne subsided. GERD subsided. Water retention in ankles is now minimal. Pain in both big toes due to bone spurs/arthritis is still there, but manageable. Weight has gone down by 1 lb. I am due for another dose of Lachesis 200. Shall I take it, along with cell salts as before?

YES GO AHEAD.AND A FEEDBACK AFTER A WEEK.

anuj srivastava 2 years ago
Took Lachesis on Oct 17th, due for another dose on Nov 1st. A few acne popped up a week later. NO PMS symptoms, which is great. Ankle swelling is so much better, almost not even there. Bone spur pain in my toes is still there, but seems less than last week. Acid reflux (in the morning only) for about three days in a row. I did get a flu vaccine last week, so that might have set me back a little.

Also, got my bloodwork results - my iron is on the lower side, but Dr says I am not anemic. Must take iron supplements for the next 3 months to raise iron levels and ferritin/iron stores.

Shall I take another dose of Lachesis? Continue with cell salts? Thank you!

Same protocol with a feedback after a week.Ferrum Phos will increase your hemoglobin/Hbc count.

anuj srivastava 2 years ago
Thank you very much! My hemoglobin test came back in normal range. Would Ferrum Phos also increase ferritin/iron store levels? If so, how do I dose it? And is it ok to take with iron supplement or instead of it? Thanks again!

IRON SUPPLEMENTS NOT REQUIRED TO BE TAKEN.HAVE FP THREE TIMES 5 TABS-ONE DOSE.

My last period started on Oct 28 - this was 32 days after the previous one. It was very very light. This used to be my cycle as a teenager, but in my late 30s it shortened to more like 26 days and was very heavy. I am now in my 40s, so these lighter, longer cycles are a nice change. I also received a covid booster vaccine on Nov 3rd. More acne on the lower part of my face popped up in the last week, after taking Lachesis 200 on Nov 1st. Acid reflux still persists, mostly in the morning before I get up. I am making sure not to eat after 7 pm, which worked in the past, but now a bit less. Pain it both big toes (due to bone spurs) is still there, but bearable. No weight loss yet. I am almost out of cell salts, so please let me know if I need to stick to the same protocol or change it up. Thanks very much!

Advised to follow the same protocol.Get cell salts.

Here's my weekly feedback:
Took Lachesis 200 on Nov 15. Also continuing with 3 types of cell salts. My period came early this month (22 days after the last one. The last one came 32 days after the one before), so my cycle is erratic. I also have more acne than before on the lower side of my face this month. Acid reflux improved. Water retention occurs, but minimal. Pain it both big toes (due to bone spurs) is still there, but bearable. Modest weight loss (2-3 lbs). Please advise on the protocol, thanks.

STOP FERRUM PHOS,START CALC FLOUR 6X.REST NO CHANGE.FEEDBACK AFTER A WEEK.

anuj srivastava 2 years ago
Thank you. Just a quick question on stopping FERRUM PHOS - you also suggested it for raising my iron store/ferritin levels. If I stop this, should I use supplements to raise my iron? Thank you.

SUPPLEMENTS MAY BE TAKEN.I HAVE STOPPED IT FOR A WEEK.

Weekly feedback - noticing a bi-weekly acne cycle that starts with my Lachesis dose, then it takes about 12 days to get better and then 2-3 days later starts again once I take another bi-weekly Lachesis dose. Less than 10 acne spots, along the jawline and neck. More cystic and remain under the skin (no head).

Ankle swelling is minimal.
Acid reflux is better.
Breast tenderness is minimal and felt only around my period.
Time between periods irregular - Jun 4, Jul 7, Aug 1, Sep 2, Sep 27, Oct 28, Nov 18.

After we added Calc Fluor cell salts last week, the pain in both big toes (due to bone spurs/arthritis) lessened. My podiatrist said the spurs are bone calcifications . It would be great if they could fully dissolve! I definitely noticed an improvement after taking Calc Fluor.

An old symptom from 5+ years ago re-appeared...I started clearing my throat (as to remove phlegm). This is now a very mild symptom whereas in the past I used to have to do it a lot, which is why I remembered it.

Libido still low, but I sense a bit of an improvement. No weight loss, but a 3 lbs weight gain that usually happens around my period. Bloating persists.

That's the latest - thank you!

Stop Lachesis.Cell salts to continue.Feedback after a week.

ok, thank you! Last week you mentioned stopping FERRUM PHOS for a week. Do I now re-start FERRUM PHOS again, or just continue with CALC FLOUR, NAT PHOS and KALI MUR? Thanks again.
