Bad Sleep Habits in Infant
I have been reading Weissbluth's book on sleeping, and I hope it will help. My 9 month old son is a very happy baby, but is a horrible sleeper. Even at 9 months, he is up every 2 hrs during the night and only usually naps about 45 minutes (2 naps). We have gotten into bad habits, nursing, rocking to sleep. He likes to hold and play with my hair to go to sleep. I have tried to work with him to play with his own hair and it seems to work, but he doesnt do it on his own. Often times I get him to sleep, put him in crib and then he wakes up when not in my arms. Also, upon waking at night, I usually can give him pacifier and he will go back to sleep, but at around 3-4 am. he wont settle down easily and I bring him to bed and nurse him back to sleep. He usually wakes 1 or 2 more times before 7 am. I have tried the CRY IT OUT method, but he screams for over an hour and I cant let him go much longer. If I go in, give him pacifier, give him bear to hold, stand there for a few minutes, he will go to sleep. BUT, it is always adult assisted, he cannot go to sleep on his own.I am more senstive to his sleepiness cues and have been good about putting him down when I see him rubbing his eyes. Yesterday, he actually took a 2 hrs nap (think this has NEVER happened).
I should also note that I have 2 other children with bedrooms nearby, so hours and hour of screaming wont help them sleep.
He is a Cal Carb and I have already tried pulsatilla, to no avail.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Give him CHAMOMILLA 30C four times a day. Should also help him in his teathing time, will help for better sleep and less irritability (if any).

In India, WILMAR SCHAWBE the well known manufacturer markets "KINDIVAL" for sleeplessness in children.
The combination contains the following medicines:
CYPRIPEDIUM
MAGNESIUM MUR and
ZINCUM VAL.
As per the Materia Medica of DR.WILLIAM BOERICKE, all three mdicines are good for sleeplessness of children.
You might be able to get the combination in your country.
My earlier suggestion about CHAMOMILLA , posted in the morning today, also holds good.
