Tonsillectomy

Hello. I am 22 years old and i just had my tonsils removed. I just wanted to say that yes, it is VERY PAINFUL!!! especially when you reach older age. There was nothing wrong with them they were just always huge. I did constantly have sore throats but my pediatrician didnt reccomend them getting taken out which upset my mom. She kept fighting, when i got my new doctor, he agreed to refer me to a ear, nose,throat doctor who said i needed them out that they were entirely too huge. So march 4th i had my surgery, its been about 3 or 4 days and its going horrribly.

I keep spitting to minimize my swallowing. im taking three different kinds of medicine. I cant really eat yet because it just makes my throat feel on fire. I find that popsicles do make me the happiest but who can live on that? IM HUNGRY!!! Whenever i sleep i have to have my head propped a certain way to minimize the pressure on my throat.

What made me come to this site is that from day one after the surgery i started getting this white buildup where the tonsils were and outlines the uvula which i cant even see anymore its hanging near the back of my throat swollen to tremendous size. I can scrape it off, it does not smell so i dont think its calcium buildup (others on here referred to it as tonsil stones, but i dont know about that, me and my mom get those small white smelly balls and our doctor said its calcium buildups) Its just aggravating cuz i have no idea how i am going to get all that white stuff off. It seems like its the stuff thats making the pain worse and hard for me to swallow still. IF anyone has has their tonsils taken out and got the same stuff what should i do that also wouldnt make the pain worse while in the process of doing it.

I really am about to die, Grr. and i cant even talk yet
