taking two or more remedies at the same time?

Is it possible to take two remedies at the same time, for instance Ars.Alb. and Silicea?
Let's say potency of 30C,same day, same week etc.?Why most homeopats prescribe only one remedy,no two or more?O.K. somebody will say about constitutive remedy, but there are no much cases where one remedy cover all symptoms, mostly about 70-80%..

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
One does not take two remedies at the same time because one could not distinguish between the good done by one and the harm done by the other.
There are remedies which support and increase the effect of each other, such are
Sul & Nux Vom -
Nat mur and Ignatia-
Silica & Flor Acid -etc.

But homeopathy is full of people past and present who have proved accepted wisdom to be incorrect .
Please feel free to experiment and for the benefit of us all , post your results and conclusions here.

You need to read more postings. This is always covered and has caused some real "heat" in discussion.

Usually, we want a new person to take only one remedy at the time. This tells us the activity of the remedy without wondering "which" we are looking at.

This is called classical homeopathy. The way it began and was used by the founder. Most homeopaths stick with this to the letter.

I would NEVER give Ars Alb and Silica together. Silicea is a remedy given only once per week for totally different action than the Ars Alb.

Ars Alb as a possible choice would have to have a complete picture of symptoms to decide wether to give this or another.

For myself, I have given more than one....for individual reasons, not as a rule.

When people write in and state they have taken this and that and "what should I do now?" is the most frustrating thing to read and near impossible to answer.

Thank you for response and advice.I was very close to take those two remedies, but after your advice I will not.
I would like to experiment, but under the somebody's expertise supervising. This issue came out, because I(as consumer of hom.remedies),still didn't feel anything of ten,or eleven remedies. All of those were in potency of 30c.Who come?

I wanted to say,how is that possible?where is the catch?

There is no catch. When one does not respond or show improvement, the remedies taken are of no use to the needs of that body. Yet it takes awhile to release them. In case one needs to be treated, this interferes.

Homeopathy does not have side-effects as we have been taught in allopathic meds. We are used to this attitude and it is hard to think differently. An increase of symptoms is a good sign.

Children do get into a kit of homeopathy and munch here and there and show no ill effects. May show "some" symptoms of remedies tasted, but no harm is caused.

When one shops in the health store there are numerous remedies with a LARGE combination list. This is a manufacturer trying to supply the person with no idea of what to buy, so they go for the combo. It is good and bad at the same time.

Here on the Forum it would be remiss of any of us to advocate this attitude. This is not what we are here for.

Hope this is clearer??

I have a positive personal experience with using two homeopathic remedies at once. I found this forum helpful, when I was deciding whether to take them and want to share my results.

I took arnica montana 30C along with phytolacca decandra 30C as directed (which was 3 pellets of arnica and 6 pellets of phytolacca each four times a day) for 4 days. I took all the pellets at the exact same time. I found that both ailments resolved quicker than I would have expected.

The arnica was taken for muscle strains in my left shoulder and knee, after playing a volleyball game.

I then simultaneously developed my typical sore throat, for which I took the phytolacca.

I had good experiences with each remedy individually, but hesitated taking them together, especially after reading forums at this website.

However then I searched google with both remedy terms and found there were combination remedies available which use both in them. I then I felt more comfortable using them.

I did need to give my mind and body time to rest and absorb the energy related to both ailments, but the remedies did have a definite positive effect.
