Elderly mother having strokes due to arthritis of spine
My sister and I are students of homeopathy. We are very concerned about out mother. She has been diagnosed with having strokes due to arthritis of the vertebrae in her neck restricting the flow of blood to her head. This not causing paralysis, but severe headaches, weakness, depression, and fear. She told us she is not ready to die, she has too much to do!!
She is 75, was blonde before her hair turned gray, blue eyes, very pale fair skin and sunburns readily. Has a pacemaker, had a heart attack about 8yrs ago, with bypass surgery. Has had melanoma over 40 yrs ago(on her left upper arm), has had small basal cell carcinomas removed from her face.
She has been very overweight most her adult life, but has brought her weight to more normal levels, but is not slim. My sister and I have given her calc carb in the past. She has had bone spurs in one foot that was removed.
She is a very determined person, creative (writer), spiritual, loves her family, will help in time of need friends and family without a second thought. Loves sweets, loves to eat (raw oysters!), food figures a lot into her thinking (social), loves to travel(this is very important to her), has had problems with gout which she brought under control with diet changes. She will take homeopathy and goes to a homeopath occasionally in her area but cannot reach homeopath now. I am not confident enough in my skills to suggest a remedy to help her. Her father died of a heart attack at 46. Drs. warned him of his diet, he did not heed advice and died (mother is more like her dad, he had gout, too). Her mother(my grandmother)died of old age at 88(she had mild alzheimer's disease), she had rheumatic fever as a child that went untreated. My grandmother's mother died of cancer after a long time of being ill, not sure how old.
Mother is normally cheerful, optimistic, friendly, controlling, stubborn, but becoming more childlike and fearful.
Everyone here is so kind, I am thankful to have found this forum and the amazing healers that give so generously time, insight and wisdom. Any direction would be most appreciated. We feel too close to her clearly.
Humbly,
Jade and her sister

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
If you have a calcareous spur then Heckla 6x twice a day for 2 weeks will deal with it.
A number of remedies show up but think first place should be given to Baryta Carb 10m.
one tablet on three sucessive nights 20 min after brushing teeth with non medicated toothpaste.
Wait 2/3 weeks to judge results.
There are a couple of nosodes that may be required but lets see where we are after the Baryta Carb.

Please check if your mother is on allopathic (doctor's ) medication as this was the cause of similar situation in my mother after she had an angioplasy at 87. After the drugs were stopped the problem stopped and she is now a healthy 93 yr old!!

My mother just called me with the results of taking Baryta Carb 10m.
She was upset but calm. After about an hour after taking it her heart began to race and pound. She said she felt as if her whole body was pulsating very fast. She was very concerned. Finally after about 2 hrs of this she fell asleep. She is very weak and tired today. She said cannot do the things she normally does, like laundry or dishes, without resting every 10 or 15 minutes. She has a sore spot on the back of her head, even with her ears towards the right side. She is not willing to take it again.
Is this a typical reaction to this remedy? I have no experience with it.
Thank you for any help.
Humbly,
Jade

NO do not repeat.
Once was enough.
There is no ""typical"" reaction , each person is individual and reacts differently.
The potency may have been a bit too high , she needs to rest and recover , drink lots of water and take some Belladonna 6 - two a day for 5 days .

Thank you,
I will give this infomation to my mother. Since she responds well to Calc, I can see that Belladonna should be helpful as this time. I truly appreciate your help.
