This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
First suggestion would be to look for practitioner as you siad its been there for 2 years. If you can't find one, maybe you want to try with Lachesis 12c globules, 4 times a day for 3 days. If there is no improvement then contact me on ariel_yeya

There are a number of ways of dealing
[ homeopathically] with this problem.

Spondylosis (spinal osteoarthritis) is a degenerative disorder that may cause loss of normal spinal structure and function. Although aging is the primary cause, the location and rate of degeneration is individual. The degenerative process of spondylosis may impact the cervical, thoracic, and/or lumbar regions of the spine affecting the intervertebral discs and facet joints.

Spondylosis often affects the following spinal elements:
Intervertebral Discs and Spondylosis
As people age certain biochemical changes occur affecting tissue found throughout the body. In the spine, the structure of the intervertebral discs (anulus fibrosus, lamellae, nucleus pulposus) may be compromised. The anulus fibrosus (e.g. tire-like) is composed of 60 or more concentric bands of collagen fiber termed lamellae. The nucleus pulposus is a gel-like substance inside the intervertebral disc encased by the anulus fibrosus. Collagen fibers form the nucleus along with water, and proteoglycans.

The degenerative effects from aging may weaken the structure of the anulus fibrosus causing the 'tire tread' to wear or tear. The water content of the nucleus decreases with age affecting its ability to rebound following compression (e.g. shock absorbing quality). The structural alterations from degeneration may decrease disc height and increase the risk for disc herniation.

Facet Joints (or Zygapophyseal Joints) and Spondylosis
The facet joints are also termed zygapophyseal joints. Each vertebral body has four facet joints that work like hinges. These are the articulating (moving) joints of the spine enabling extension, flexion, and rotation. Like other joints, the bony articulating surfaces are coated with cartilage. Cartilage is a special type of connective tissue that provides a self-lubricating low-friction gliding surface. Facet joint degeneration causes loss of cartilage and formation of osteophytes (e.g. bone spurs). These changes may cause hypertrophy or osteoarthritis, also known as degenerative joint disease.

Bones and Ligaments
Osteophytes (e.g. bone spurs) may form adjacent to the end plates, which may compromise blood supply to the vertebra. Further, the end plates may stiffen due to sclerosis; a thickening/hardening of the bone under the end plates.

Ligaments are bands of fibrous tissue connecting spinal structures (e.g. vertebrae) and protect against the extremes of motion (e.g. hyperextension). However, degenerative changes may cause ligaments to lose some of their strength. The ligamentum flavum (a primary spinal ligament) may thicken and/or buckle posteriorly (behind) toward the dura mater (a spinal cord membrane).

Cervical Spine and Spondylosis
The complexity of the cervical anatomy and its wide range of motion make this spinal segment susceptible to disorders associated with degenerative change. Neck pain from spondylosis is common. The pain may spread (radiate) into the shoulder or down the arm. When a bone spur (osteophyte) causes nerve root compression, extremity (e.g. arm) weakness may result. In rare cases, bone spurs that form at the front of the cervical spine, may cause difficult swallowing (dysphagia).

Thoracic Spine and Spondylosis
Pain associated with degenerative disease is often triggered by forward flexion and hyperextension. In the thoracic spine disc pain may be caused by flexion - facet pain by hyperextension.

Lumbar Spine and Spondylosis
Spondylosis often affects the lumbar spine in people over the age of 40. Pain and morning stiffness are common complaints. Usually multiple levels are involved (e.g. more than one vertebrae).

The lumbar spine carries most of the body's weight. Therefore, when degenerative forces compromise its structural integrity, symptoms including pain may accompany activity. Movement stimulates pain fibers in the anulus fibrosus and facet joints. Sitting for prolonged periods of time may cause pain and other symptoms due to pressure on the lumbar vertebrae. Repetitive movements such as lifting and bending (e.g. manual labor) may increase pain.

Dr Foubister in his book Tutorials on Homeopathy suggests

Alternating Hecla Larva 6c , with manganum 6c at 12 or 24 hour intervals

He also used Osteoarthritic Nosode 30c .

Where pain is bad he used at 4 hr intervals.

I have had a few dramatic cures of Cervical Spondylosis which responded in a few days to Rhus Tox 30c in the dry dose taken twice daily.

I would suggest that you use it for a few days and report your response.

If however you have responded to the Hecla Larva 6c suggested by Walkin, please disregard my post.

Kalmia 30 seems to be the most appropriate remedy for your condition.1 drop thrice daily.

However since chest/heart is involved, I would suggest to consult an experienced homeopath.

All the best

Dear Mr.Joe

I am re-pasting what I sent you earlier regarding my mom's ailment.

I wanted an advice from you for my Mom who is 62 years old, a 1st grade diabetic, High BP patient. All is under control with respective medicines for diabetes and BP. The problem she has been facing is acute pain in her arms while lifting them up. The pain starts from the centre of the shoulder to the joint of the elbow, the pain also goes to the wrist, which makes her very difficult to lift things.

You need more history about this....please inform.

Should she start with Rhus Tox 30c in dry dose taken twice daily, apart from the allopathic medicines she is taking for diabetes and BP.

Please advise

I would prefer to treat her Diabetes and Hypertension first.

Arnica 30c is her remedy in the wet dose which you now know how to make and she should take a teaspoonful twice daily. She should notice that her Blood sugar level should reduce dramatically on the second day and she should then reduce the units of Insulin that she is taking to keep the BS at around 110-120. You should also give her 1/4 teaspoonful Cinnamon powder in a brew twice daily and it is not impossible that her BS may be able to be controlled with Metformin alone without Insulin. Keep a record of her Blood Pressure and this too will come down although in about 2 weeks on the daily dose of Arnica.

I would not like you to use any medication for her Cervical Spondylosis as I am concerned that the Arnica may not help with her BS and BP.

Please post response in a week.

Joe De Livera last decade
She does not take insulin but takes glynase MF twice a day b4 meals for BS and Losar 15 mg for BP alongwith becasules. Her BS is under control in the range of 140 to 170 constantly fluctuating on the amount of sweet eaten.

She only has pain in her arms (from shoulder to the wrist) while stretching or lifting.

So i will start with Arnica 30c in wet dose 2 teaspoons a day.

I will keep you posted on this

Thanks once again.

dear joe,

i wish to inform you that my mom has stopped all medication of bs & bp for almost a week and is on the arnica 30c wet dose therapy.

i wish to inform you that though she finds her bp and bs under control and much better, her pain in the arms remains the same...but she has developed new pains in the different parts of the arms...middle of the arm bones, hands, etc

please advise

I am glad to note that your mom has responded positively to my Arnica therapy for her Diabetes and Hypertension. You have however not indicated what her BS and BP levels are today. Please note that it is essential that you maintain strict daily records of these levels as you have stopped all other medication which she has been taking.

As I indicated to you in an earlier post, I would prefer to treat her Diabetes and Hypertension first and as you have seen the Arnica has worked well. I fear that if she is started on the therapy for her Cervical Spondylosis, there is a possibility of her main ailments going our of control again and I would ask you to not use the Rhus Tox which you have referred to and which is my remedy for this ailment for another week till they are more stabilized.

In the meanwhile you may use Arnica ointment on her joints as they will help to resolve the pain.

Please indicate her BS and BP levels which must be taken daily.

Joe De Livera last decade
She will be checking her BS and BP in a day or two. This is because she is still doubtful and awaiting effects of not consuming the diabetes & BP tablets. She only hopes that its your Arnica 30c thats controlling her BP and BS and quite fearful about the new pains she has developed. In two days time she will b more confident about her BP and BS and accordingly she will check BS (BS strips quite expensive for daily use - Her comment)and BP to be done at the nursing home.

I will keep you informed on this

To Deoshlok

If you read this thread from the top you will note that I preferred not to treat the Cervical Spondylosis for which I note that you have prescribed Ruta G 1M.

I have also given the reason for my not choosing to treat this ailment as I feared that it would antidote the therapy that I have indicated for the patient's Diabetes and Hypertension.

I have suggested that she uses Arnica ointment externally for her pain resulting from the CS.

You will note that she has responded well to the Arnica therapy and I hope that she will not experiment with the Ruta G that you prescribed.

Dear Mr. Joe,

My mom checked her BS today...It had shot up to 430...Her fears came true....

She was feeling the additional pain in her arms was due to high diabetes...cos she also felt bitter taste on her tongue thruout the day.

She has not checked her BP....but she is sure from her 3-4 years experience that both BS and BP are co-related and if checked its bound to be high.

She has started her diabetes medicine of Glynase MF tablets.....

She is very much worried

solvin last decade
It is obvious that she cannot stop the drugs that she is using for her diabetes and for her hypertension immediately.

She should use the Arnica / Cinnamon therapy with the drugs and you should get her a digital blood sugar gauge which she can use to check her BS level often instead of having to depend on the strips you spoke of. You can also include a digital BP gauge which she can use to check her BP daily if necessary.

Joe De Livera last decade
She has a digital BS meter wherein blood stained strips are inserted to get the digital record.

I was thinking of getting a digital BP guage....

How long should she continue the Arnica/Cinnamon therapy alongwith her allopathic medication...till her diabetes and BP comes comes down and gradually (1 or 2 months/when she feels better/when the BS & BP show low)minimise on the allopathic medicines ?

Diabetes and Hypertension are ailments that are usually not cureable. They can only be controlled by the Homeopathic remedies in the same manner that the many drugs that are prescribed help to control them.

In the case of these drugs they usually have side effects some of them serious while in the case of Homeopathic remedies they have absolutely no side effects.

You may like to know that I have used Arnica every night for the last 11 years and am convinced that it has done me a lot of good. I have tested my theory by stopping the nightly dose and discovered that in about a week I tend to react negatively with increased blood pressure and a general feeling of malaise.

The idea in your sister's case is to cut down on the drugs and to replace them with the Homeopathic remedies as far as is possible.

It is very important to ensure that both her BP and BS do not ever reach the dager level that you reported a few days ago.

Joe De Livera last decade
She had started taking only allopathic medicines and has brought her diabetes under control.

I have told her to take Arnica/Cinnamon simultaneously with Allopathy.

How many months according to you will she take to get used to the Arnica/Cinnamon therapy, so that from that period onwards she can stop allopathy and continue with Arnica/Cinnamon therapy.

Please advise

solvin last decade
The time frame for your sister to take the Arnica and Cinnamon cannot be specified by me. In my experience it is usually noticed that the BS and BP comes down dramatically in about a week in the case of Type II while in the case of Type I the BS comes down overnight.

I have spelt out the therapy in my post above and I hope that she will be able to reduce her dependence on the drugs which she can replace with the Arnica / Cinnamon combination.

Report response weekly.

Dear Joe,

This treatment is for my mother 61 years old

She has started both treatments and I have informed her to continue for at least 2 weeks and see how it works and accordingly we will decide to discontinue with allopathy or not.

In the meantime, I wish to inform you that after taking Arnica/Cinnamon therapy, the only difference she finds is bitter taste on her tongue, which was not so earlier.

Her new pains have also reduced to 90% after taking allopathy, but the old pain in the arms remains the same. Shall I try Rhus Tox 30c in the dry dose taken twice daily and check the difference.

I will keep you informed.

solvin last decade
I believe that she is taking too much Cinnamon powder which has resulted in her bitter taste that she is experiencing.

The standard optimum dosage is 1/4 teaspoonful taken only twice daily.'

The Arnica cannot possibly cause this problem.

I would like you to give her Nat Phos 6x after lunch and dinner and the dose is 3 tablets immediately after meals. This may alter any acid imbalance in her stomach and may help with her multitude of problems.
