adult add?
Hello, I've been struggling with ADD my whole life. I don't want to take Rx meds, but I'm tired of being interested in so many things and never being able to retain any information I've read, or even get past the first paragraph of something that is non-fiction. I was hoping someone could offer some guidance about how to treat myself with homeopathy. Any questions or suggestions are welcome!Thank you,

See Q. #1
4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?
Stupid. Different, in a negative way.
5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?
Since childhood.
6. Which time of the day you are worst?
11am to 7pm
7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?
Reading non-fiction, sitting at a desk, having a conversation about something I'm interested in, knowing I can't remember anything I've read/heard about it and that I won't remember anything that is said in the conversation.
8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?
I become angrier, more irritable, more expressive during menses.
9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?
Cold, dry weather. I love Autumn!
10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.
Moody, nervous, suspicious. My family would also say that I have always been obnoxious.
- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm?
I love it! Exhilarated.
- Do you like being consoled during your tough times?
I appreciate the gesture, but I tend not to open-up emotionally to others, only intellectually.
- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc?
Yes. I can't relax with a lot of noise, I'm sensitive to chemical smells and synthetic fragrance.
- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc?
Chewing my fingers (I'm not as bad now as I used to be).
- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?
I still live with my parents, sister and her two children and my 5-year-old son. They irritate me, but I'm very lucky to have their support while I'm unemployed.
11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?
Cockroaches (I'm cringing just typing the word)
When I was in high school, I was diagnosed as bi-polar. Then, when I was pregnant with my son, I was told to take Lithium for depression, which I was instructed to continue to take for postpartum depression. During the next four years, I was diagnosed with schizo-affective disorder and tried countless medications. Eventually, I was too ill to work. I quit my job, lost my health insurance and had to stop taking the meds. A little over one year later, I'm fine(though still unemployed without compensation)! The only symptoms I have seem to be the ADD symptoms I've had my whole life. So, to answer the question, my biggest fear is that I will never be 'un-diagnosed' and that this label will follow me. Especially when I want to secure legal custody of my son (he lives with me and his father is out of the picture, but it isn't 'official').
My other greatest fear is that my son, who has a serious case of ADHD, will have to take meds forever. I understand that many children are misdiagnosed with ADHD, but my son is dangerously impulsive to the point of running into a busy street, unbuckling himself while I am driving, trying to get out of the parked car on the street side before I can get out of the car, and lashing out at his smaller cousin in anger.
For many, many years, a recurring theme in my dreams has been that I physically strike someone who has made me very angry or who is attacking me, and although I put all of my strength into it, the action is extremely weak and makes no difference, has no effect on the person.
12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?
I don't like foods that are too much sweeter than fruit. When I am stressed, I crave various juices mixed with seltzer water.
13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?
Normal.
14. How if your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive?
Normal. But even if I'm really hungry, I don't feel like eating.
15. Is there any kind of food which your body cant stand?
Whole flax and pumpkin seeds, more than a little dairy in Summer, greasy food.
16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs?
It seems normal. I think my trunk sweats more.
17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?
At least once per day. Soft but formed.
18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?
Usually through the night. On my side. If my back, neck or hips hurt, I will sleep on my stomach but toss and turn.
19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?
Not sexually active.
20. How do you think you are different from others, if at all?
Open-minded. I can see both sides of an argument. I don't get angry when others disagree with me or don't approve of me, and that makes them angry. People have always thought I was different, odd, not normal even if I never did or said anything to make them think it. I think alot. I may be overly analytical. And somewhat paranoid (I get a lot of traits from my father). I used to be agoraphobic but I've sort of talked myself out of it... most of the time. Also, I'm a social imbecile. I can't tell when I'm being made fun of or lied to, I can't take a hint, and I can't read other people. I take stuff at face value. I can't lie. But I can help others see the possible reasons behind the words/actions of other people in their lives. I'm pretty good at seeing the big picture, but not what's right in front of me.
21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?
For ADD, I've never taken anything.
22. What major diseases are running in your family?
The C-word that is not permitted on this forum (everyone on my mother's side), heart (father), alcoholism, arthritis, ADD/ADHD, paranoia, agoraphobia
23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance
5'6', 170lbs, very fair (burn very easily), dirty-blonde hair, green eyes
24. (ONLY FOR FEMALES)

- Are the periods early, regular or late in general? How long do they last?

Irritability leading up to, angry and weepy during. Have ovarian cysts.
- Is the flow scanty, normal or excessive?
Seems excessive.

Pale watery at first, then thick bright red.
- Do you notice any clots in the flow?
Yes.

Hi,
What is exactly happening between 11AM and 7PM? Describe in detail - your feelings, emotions, sensations, temperament at that time?
Before and after that time, I feel creative and energetic, I see possibilities. But between 11am and 7pm, I feel sluggish, sometimes fatigued, in need of a nap. I feel as though it's too late to get stuff done, or like the best time to go outside to do anything (ie grocery shopping, playing with my son [when he feels like going out], going to the laundromat, etc) is morning or evening and 11-7 is too late, like I've missed the bus.
Say something about with respect to your preference or experience, etc:
1) Music and dancing: Light classical, baroque, punk, electronic. I can't dance. I can't seem to 'let go' enough.
2) Eggs: Yummy.
3) Milk: Whole organic yummy.
4) Salt: I rarely use it.
5)Verbal/Physical/Child Abuse (What is applicable is your case): My dad has always been sort of... I'm not sure. He's a nice guy but when he gets angry he stays that way for a while, and his form of parenting was 'do what i say when i say because i can make your life miserable otherwise.' I've always been very defiant. It's in my nature. Runs in the family (mom).
6) Warts: Yes. 1 on bottom of foot.
7) Moles on the body: Yes.
How long you have ovarian cysts?
three or four years
Do you dwell on the past?
Sometimes I catch myself remembering past mistakes and regretting them, and I have to talk myself out of feeling bad about them. Mostly I find that if I dwell on things, I can't move forward.
Do you take deep breaths?
Often
Do you drink water in sips or gulp it down quickly?
Gulp.
Do you avoid confrontations?
Yes. Although my anger flares for a split second, it immediately recedes.
Do you have blue/black rings under your eyes?
No.

The pain in the scapular areas start at various times during the day, every day. They seem to be triggered by too much activity (laundry, lifting child, etc) as well as inactivity (sitting on sofa for half an hour or longer, driving car). These particular pains are better in the morning, but come back every day. As for the spasms in the thoracic area, I can't figure out what triggers them but they are almost always there, even when they are not painful. So, yes, the pain and spasms are always there.
What is the Carcinosin meant to help with, if I may ask?

Carcinosin will address what you have mentioned in your Main Sufferings. If it works, it will also confirm that you have that miasm in the family, and this will pave way for the treatment of your child in future.
OK, on second thoughts, I want you to hold back buying Carcinosin just for some time, so that I can have a closer look at your back pains.
Please give mode details
about the following:
-Hip and knee pain, greatest before and during rain, and in high humidity.
-Sharp, intense pains in scapular areas and either side of length of spine (spasms)
* How and when did these pains/spasms start?
* What makes them better - Rest or Motion.
* Does rubbing or applying pressure on the affected areas help?

Darn, I already ordered the Carcinosin.
'Please give mode details
about the following:'
-Hip and knee pain, greatest before and during rain, and in high humidity.
- The pain is usually an aching pain and feels deep, like it's in the joints. Sometimes the hips have a sharper pain closer to the surface high on the hip. I had X-rays taken of hips/knees today. I have the CD with the images on it but the report will be sent to the rheumatologist, so I'll have to wait until I see her to find out what's what.
-Sharp, intense pains in scapular areas and either side of length of spine (spasms)
* How and when did these pains/spasms start?
-I was in a car accident +/- 13 years ago. I received chiropractic care for about a year for the lumbar spine and my neck (it's very straight since that accident). I remember that chiropractor also telling me that there was so much tension in the scapular areas that my shoulders should be up near my ears, and I've had muscle aches in that area since the accident, but the sharp, stabbing pain didn't start until after my son was born (5 years ago), probably from carrying him around. The hip/knee pain started about ten years ago.
* What makes them better - Rest or Motion.
- Neither rest nor motion relieves the hip/knee pain. I just have to wait for that to go away on its own.
- Physical therapy exercises which target the scapular areas and back muscles really help that pain, and when the pain is very bad, lying on the floor for about fifteen minutes helps. Also, lying in bed all night because I almost always wake up without the back pain.
* Does rubbing or applying pressure on the affected areas help?
- Not on the hips/knees.
- I was sent to PT for one month and they would do a bit of massage on the shoulder blades and back just in the places that hurt, and said that there were really big knots in those spots (lots of tension), and mobilization really helped (putting force on my back while I was face-down and sort of moving the ribs where they meet the spine).
I saw a rheumatalogist last week who gave me one cortisone shot in the muscle beside the shoulder blade on each side. The pain is gone from those very specific areas, but the muscle areas above and below the shot sites still hurt very much. I don't know if she'll believe me. I'm really nervous that all this muscular pain will be labeled as Fibromyalgia, like it's easier and cheaper than looking for the cause. But what if the muscle spasms are the cause of the pain, and are what need to be treated? I'm afraid I'll just get handed a Rx for muscle relaxers and sent on my way because it's cheaper than years of PT or massage.

Hi,
Let Carcinosin come. We can not do without it. Until then let's prepare ground for it
Please follow the following prescription:
1) Armica 30C
Procedure: Bring a mineral water bottle of 250 ml to 330ml size, or the smallest one that you could find in the supermarket. Empty 20% of the water out. Put 5 pellets of Arnica 30C into it and let them dissolve on their own.
For each dose, hit the opposite side of the bottle on your other palm 8 times, take out one cap and drink.
Do this once in morning and once in the night.
2) Mag Phos 6X
Bring a 500 ml mineral water bottle from supermarket. Dissolve 12 Mag Phos 6X tablets in it. Shake it and keep sipping water from it whole day. Next day, fill the now empty bottle with pure/clean/non-chlorinated/drinking water, add 12 tabs and repeat the process.
Give me 1st update after 3 days.

Okay, the local health food store carries Arnica 30C and Mag Phos 30C. Can I substitute 30C for 6X? If not, I'll look elsewhere.
CZera last decade
No you can't. Pick up Arnica from there and start taking it.
Look for Mag Phos 6X at some other health store. Check for Hylands brand at Wholefoods, I guess.

Hello, I have followed your instructions. This is the end of day 3. The pain in scapular areas and the pain and spasms in the back lessened during the day, but do return.

It is just 3 days.
Do Mag Phos for 1 week and stop.
Do Arnica for 15 days and stop.
Better to take night dose of Arnica just before sleeping.
Update me after 5 days please.

The Cal Carb is available on this site from boiron in 8x as the lowest.
Can she get that?

Hi,
That will be fine. But I am worried about 2 things:
1) time of delivery as all these will go together into the bottle.
2) Cost. I hope the cost of all these cell salts do not add up to a lot. In America, homeopathic remedies are quite expensive.
