2 month old possible reflux
My 2 month old has been experiencing some symptoms of reflux for the past week. He was breast fed for the first 4 weeks of his life but is now on formula. His sleeping has become less restful. He arches his back occasionally during feedings and tends to flail his arms around. He spits up, not really in excess, but sometimes it happens over an hour after eating. He has hiccups after almost every feed. He has been overly fussy, and the only thing that usually calms him his feeding him a bit more (even if he just ate) until he falls asleep. He has a peds appt tomorrow, but I'd like to have an alternative to the prescribed meds that doctors usually give.Tlpark on 2014-01-23

Please answer ALL these questions and I may be able to select a curative remedy. Leave the questions in place:
1. What is the age, weight & height of child
--he is 2 months old, approximately 10lbs, and 22inches long
2. Physical appearance: Thin, Medium, Chubby
--medium appearance
3. How is the child mentally & emotionally normally
--normally he is a happy baby. No excessive crying. His sleep was fairly consistent at night sleeping 3-4 hours at a time. His wakeful hours during the day were normal.
4. How is the child mentally & emotionally during reflux/gerd
--for the past week, when he is awake he is most often crying. Spitting up has increased but still not to excess. He does tend to have hiccups after most feedings, and spit up often happens 30 minutes to an hour after eating. He gets very squirmy during feedings and has had a hoarse cry for the past 4 days. His sleeping has become poor. He wakes every 2 hours. When he starts crying and can't be soothed, I offer him about 2 oz more food and it seems to calm him back to sleep.
5. What are the symptoms of reflux/gerd
--as I understand it, gerd is characterized by excessive spit up or vomiting, back arching during feeds
6. How is the childs stool
--his bowel movements haven't changed. He has 1 every day or every other day. It is soft in texture and usually greenish in color.
7. How is the childs desire to feed
--his desire to eat hasn't diminished. If anything it seems as if I'm feeding him more. It seems as if the act of swallowing is soothing to his throat maybe.
8. Is the child teething
--he's not teething
9. How is the childs sweat (smell, where, little, a lot etc.)
--I haven't noticed any sweating

Please give him two doses of Calcarea Phosphorica 30c, 12 hrs apart and report back.
One dose is made by dissolving one pill of the remedy (or one drop, if you have liquid remedy) in half a glass of cooled, boiled water. Stir it and take one tea spoon from it.
