Pet dander allergies
My cat is trying to kill me. I have never suffered from pet allergies before I moved to Florida. My left ear closes up and it's torture sleeping at night. What is a good remedy for allergies?

Did you have the cat before you moved to Florida? I'm a little confused. How do you know it's pet allergies, and not a plant/seasonal type of thing?
My wife is allergic to most cats/dogs, so we have two dogs that don't have dander - a maltese and a yorkshire terrier (yorkie).

Good question. I got my cat after being in Florida for a year. He's a medium haired tabby/maine coon. I am not sure if it is the cat or a seasonal allergy.
When I leave my house, my head starts to clear up a bit. I've been in the same house over a year. My symptoms get worse when the weather is humid.
Air conditioning eases it up a bit.
It's the left ear itching and closing up that bothers me the most. Kinda like being on an airplane, but worse.
Thanks for responding.

If you are certain it is a pet allergy:
Wipe your cat down daily with a wet wash cloth. Dander occurs when they lick themselves and their saliva dries on their fur. Open windows at night for at least 30 minutes to allow fresh air in.
Air purifiers work wonders as well.
Keep cat out of your bedroom 100% of the time.
Invest in a netti pot to flush your nose, take Vitamin C, if you don't already, and rinse your ears out with peroxide.
Someone else will prescribe a remedy to you or you can try Animal Hair Dander a homeopathic combo remedy that has dilutions of pet hair in it.
