Hi Evocationer,

I would also like to check with you if swimming is fine for him. He goes to swim lessons twice a week. Not sure if the chemicals that are in swimming pools are harmful for his skin condition. Please suggest.

Thanks

I wouldn't think so. Chlorine can be an issue for some people, but on the correct remedy it should not cause any real problem. If it does, we can use that as a sign we need to keep treating.

How is he by the way?

Evocationer last decade
He is not doing good. Eczema got worse and he is scratching until it bleeds. Mostly during night. I will send you some pictures today so you can get the idea. Just hoping that it's because of the remedy.

Thanks

It is possible he has been overdosed. Eczema is very sensitive to aggravation, and the longer and more often it has been suppressed by topical medications or even internal medicines like steroids, the worse and the longer the aggravation will persist.

Apart from the skin, how is he?

Use the list if you could:

Eruptions,elbows
Eruptions, knees
Eruptions, belly
Eruptions, fingers
Eruptions, toes
Eruptions, ears
Eruptions, neck
Eruptions, under eyes
Itching
Scratching till bleeds
Pain from warm water
No fear
Does not draw or discuss thoughts about fantasies
Does not describe dreams or nightmares
Goes easily to strangers
Love of jumping
Anger not getting what he wants
Sleeps on tummy
Sleeplessness from itching
No particular craving or aversion to foods
Crying until he gets milk

Apart from the skin he is fine. It's the itching and the eczema wounds that he has all over his body. He got it on the back and can't scratch it, gets very frustrated because of that. The symptoms are all same as I last reported.

You list the love of jumping as a symptom. I am really confused with that. There is no change in his love of jumping but I like it when he does that. He is in a very joyful mood when he does that. Is this really a symptom that I should be watching.

His skin is very dry.we put coconut oil on him after the bath but by the time he go to sleep the skin gets dry again. This is within 6-7 hrs.

I will post some photos soon.

Thanks

I look for any changes of any sort in the behaviour reported. I am not necessarily looking to cure it, but watch how it manifests in his life. Another example would be sleeping on the stomach - not really what most parents would see as a problem, but it is a characteristic of certain remedies. I didn't use all those things to prescribe. However it was actually a symptom of Petroleum - jumping is a symptom in our books.

So nothing has improved and the skin has worsened. I am not sure what to think of that - it is odd.

The history of suppression will definitely be an issue here too though. Always lots of aggravation in the skin when this is the case. Aggravation is usually a sign that the remedy is working, but I would want to see some other kind of positive shift to be confident with that. Direction of Cure tells us that things move from inside out, centre to periphery.

It is strange because the remedy seems very specific and there is so little in the case. With mostly only skin symptoms and nothing else, they seem to be the only guide.

So assuming the remedy isn't going to help, I will reanalyse the information.

If I look at the following rubrics:

Eruptions/eczema, dry
Eruptions/eczema, worse winter
Eruptions/eczema, better summer
Scratching until bleeding
Sleeplessness from itching
Eruptions/eczema, worse dry weather

This quite clearly points to the remedy Psorinum. It is the only remedy to display every one of those symptoms. Next in line is Silicea, then Petroleum.

Petroleum is actually a Psoric remedy alongside Psorinum (belongs to the same disease pattern). Psorinum is the 'nosode' for this miasm (the 'itch' disease). So I think this is still in range of where I was originally looking.

How difficult/expensive was it to get LM1? We could start with 12c if that is easier to get.

Here are the pics. The one thing that we noticed in his behavior is he is more playful now, getting hyperactive runs around the house and more jumping than before. Also he sleeps in different position sometimes on tummy,on back too. But this was even before the remedy.

I am not able to attach the pics here, it's large. How else can I send those to you.

Thanks

Hi Evocationer,

I can't say for sure if the remedy worked or not. He did slept well for 2 days (Nov 11 and Nov12) without any itching/scratching in the middle of night. Skin at some part of his body looks smooth around the belly area. But the hands and legs are bad with eczema. The itching/scratching started again at night and in the morning when he wakes up he is scratching his buttock and penis. The skin is very dry, the weather is also cold so that could be the reason.

Its more than 10 days now to his last dose. So if we assume the remedy is working should we still wait or give him another dose ?

I already have psorinum in LM2 and LM3. With the above description what do you suggest, should we try psorinum now ?

Please reply at your earliest.

Thanks

Did you give Psorinum at all, or did that improvement happen after the Petroleum?

Evocationer last decade
No haven't given psorinum yet. Do you think it's an improvement. That's what I m not sure about. He slept well for 2 days but he is back to itching and scratching. What do you suggest in this case.

Thanks

Ok do this - give him one more dose of Petr 0/1. Hit the bottle 10 times instead of 5, and use 1 drop instead of 3.

We need to be very careful of not moving past the correct remedy, because finding our way back to it could be quite difficult - there are thousands of medicines to try, and the temptation is always to do that rather than go back to previous remedies.

Evocationer last decade
Ok. Will do that and will report.

Thanks

My apologies, weekends are difficult for me to get online to check posts here.

If things are continuing to improve, I would just wait a little longer. When things stall, or begin to relapse, let me know.

Thanks, will keep you updated.

Hi Evocationer,

First of all I would like to Thank you for all the help. His eczema is a lot better now.
Things seems to be stalled now. Right now his legs and arms still have eczema patches and he has started scratching for last couple of days. The scratching is not that bad as its used to be but its started. He had slept well before without any scratching.
Wanted to check with you before it gets worse. What do you suggest now ?

Thanks

Relapse always calls for a repeat of the last remedy that helped. So give him one dose now, exactly as before, and let me know that does. It is possible he may need to go up to the next potency as well, but we never do that until we know for sure the previous potency has run out of steam.

Evocationer last decade
Ok, so the last dose was Petro LM1 , Hit the bottle 10 times and used 1 drop in 100 ml of water.

Will do that again and report in 1 week.

Thanks

Don't wait a whole week. Let me know what has happened the next day.

Sorry for replying late, my mistake. Got busy with holiday preparation.

Its been a week we gave him the last dose. After the dose he was fine for 2 days but the itching / scratching started again. Its now mostly on hands and legs. He is scratching until it bleeds so it looks bad.
Please suggest.

Thanks

Ok repeat again. Repeat a dose every 3 days. Continuing doing this until either there is no improvement, almost everything has improved, or there is an aggravation.

I will be checking posts over the Xmas break.

Evocationer 9 years ago
Thanks Evocationer. I will try that and will report after 3-4 doses.

Hi Evocationer,

We gave him 4 doses now at the interval of 3 days. I don't see any change in his condition. His legs are where the most of the eczema left now. He is fine the whole day but gets itching when he sleeps at night.
What do you suggest ?

Thanks

Are there any new symptoms, or have any of his symptoms changed significantly?
