The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Rishimba (?): Dental issues, gingivitis, periodontists

Hi Rishimba,

Are you in a capacity to take an existing case here, in a traditional manner? It is related to dental problems, the person who was handling it up to now has apparently left or has too many cases on his hand. Another person replied too, but I was hesitant in taking more than one remedy at one time.

If you cannot, can you mention someone else who can take this?

The existing case is here:
http://www.abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/433518/
and partially over here:
http://www.abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/463023/

but I am happy to write everything on this post according to your questionnaire.

Here are some replies. Please ask again if I need to detail something further.
Thanks

Patient ID: Sex: Age: Nature of work: Habits:
"bissi", male, 26, primarily sedentary work from a computer. Habits below.

Also I add that my family had a homeopath doctor and friend who was really really good. I moved cities and couldn't consult him since. He was someone I always

look up to and because of him, I never take any allopathic medicines. He prescribed single doses and I was cured at different times of my life of problems

like severe hairfall, and nosebleeding.
Okay now your answers!

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experience and happenings.

***************
1. Describe your main suffering? State the correct location of pain or suffering.

For the past almost two years, I am having some problems with my teeth. I had different dentists evaluate my teeth but the results were similar. They say I

have a moderate level of bone loss from my teeth which is irreversible. My gums feel some sensitivity too. I have three wisdom teeth. Primarily the pain

affects the right upper wisdom teeth and its vicinity. None of the pain is ever unbearable, and in everyday life I will not feel it. When I floss I would feel

sensitivity. In the past, I had bleeding from gums too but that hasn't happened in the last year or so.
There are days when they become sensitive and then I feel more pain, and then they become fine again for many days. But the dentists says you cannot 'feel'

about bone loss, it is diagnosed via xrays and some kind of a "pick" which they had. They advise periodontal treatment under the gum cleaning and some say to

remove the wisdom tooth. My gums are also receeding.
I don't have any caries at the moment. Some years ago I had two minor caries but they were easily filled.

*************************
2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?

Well I wear glasses for myopia since I was 12ish. I've had hairfall issues for a while too, and still have hairfall (which started some while ago). 4 years

ago hairfall was severe and a few doses of homeopathic remedy cured it with remarkable success. Skin is usually dry, and hair also very dry after shampooing

unless I use some oil on them. Nails have ridges on them, and I feel hand nails grow very soon.
*************************
3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?

This tooth issue bothers me too much. My heartbeat rises thinking of this, and I am with tension and tension all the time about it. I just want some dentist

to tell me hey you're making improvement. Even though there is no pain in daily life, the stress with this is just like feeling I hate my life.
************************
4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst? Describe the sensation in your own words.

On my upper gums where the problem affects most I feel some pain when I floss. It is like I want to press the floss harder and then it is sort of a massage to

the gums. I dont want to press them with my toothbrush but like with a narrower object like the floss or my nails. I cant really see so back in my mouth, but

it feels like there maybe some peculiarity in the gums there making my gums there different from the rest of the mouth. Again I feel like what the heck , now

this problem again? When would I be cured? Would I ever be cured? These feelings start arising. I usually take deep breaths for this. The sensation in the

gums is such that there are scratches or not smooth, or not well stuck to the teeth.
*************************
5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?

I rarely had a dentist examine my teeth thoroughly so when I went to one about 2-2.5 years ago, this started. I had bleeding gums for a long long time, but

now haven't had in the past year or so. Sorry I cant connect it to any past event..
************************
6. Which time of the day you are worst?
By far, the night when I am flossing and brushing. It rarely pains when I don't fiddle with my teeth!
************************
7. What are the things that aggravate your suffering and those that ameliorate the same? Example: time, temperature, pressure, rubbing, washing, eating, tight

clothing etc.

Applying pressure on these gums like a massage makes me feel nice. The sensitivity increases during this process but it is like an exercise that your body

feels exerted but you enoy it. Mostly during flossing at night or brushing. Gargling with salt water helps.
***************************
8. Do you think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in

females)?
When I am alone and think more of this problem, I think that increases the pain.
**************************
9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?
I dont like to be out when it is very sunny. But cold weather and an overdose of snow depresses me too. Good weather is really important to me for a place

where I live. But I cannot relate this to my teeth issue.
************************
10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing,

Irritating, Lazy etc.

I am a very strong believer of working hard to achieve anything. So much that I think I can do anything I really want to do. The only caveat is I really would like to want to do it. Whatever I set out to achieve for myself I work hard for it, and get it. I dont rest till I get what I want. This includes things like doing well on an exam, getting a job I want, getting a good price for something I want, negotiating for something, or even in love and relationships. I am proud that the woman who I'm love now (my fiance) loves me back. I see all my life as a success story, that despite odds against me I have achieved and got. I thank God for this, but give recognition to myself that I have worked and got my rewards. No easy low hanging fruit.
I have started disliking people who put in half hearted attempts in any task, and when they fail say this is fate. I see them as stupid worthless people who'll die as they were born. Keep complaining and don't act. Be arrogant and think you know everything. I strive for perfection not mediocrity.
Something like a pain in my heart comes when I see my loved ones struggling, because they didn't act for their results at the right time. I have become sort of the person who wants everything done as I want- and this is because I have more or less always achieved success in the methods I tried on my own. So like when my fiance doesn't find a good job I am pretty frustrated because she isn't working hard enough for it.
Love bothers me. My fiance is far from me and it bothers me that she is far as I can only see her on Skype. We try and meet every 6 months or something. I wait for the day when I'll see her again, and I want that she makes efforts to come to me (for logistical reasons I cannot go to her permanently). It bothers me when I don't see her working on this everytime- and sometimes it causes stress as well.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm?
I like it!
- Do you like being consoled during your tough times?
Very much. I get upset when during a tough time my fiance doesn't assist me. I feel people should give me attention.
- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc?
I dont like too much noise around me. I cant stand loud talking people. I cant sleep in the lights very comfortably.
- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
Weeping, talking to one self etc?
I keep twitching my fingers like my thumb with my fingers.
- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?
I hate my father. My mom and dad don't live together since a while, and even when I lived with them and they were together they were always quarreling. My father was always quareling with her, and to be with him in a public place was embarrasing for me. I just want to punch him when I meet him. All the times, I have seen him in my dreams, the dream is of us getting into an altercation with either he on the point of hitting me or me hitting him.
I love my mother very much. I miss her and she is far from me. I wait to see her again, and worry that she is alone. About my fiance I already answered above. My brother is younger to me, and we don't get along awfully well but we are not in a quarrel either. We have different views of life, he is more into living life as he wants and he is younger to me so it is his age. But definitely there isn't so much love between us as between two brothers.

-How do you respond to music? Do you feel better or worse mentally listening to music?
I enjoy music.
- What upsets you most in yourself and in others?
About perfection and medicority, which I answered above. When people behave stupidly, I am pretty pis***. I find most of the people to be stupid, not doing their job well and not taking responsibilities seriously. I only know of a couple of people who are serious towards their life and jobs, and mostly I find I am the only one who knows everything.
***************************
11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?
Dreams are usually about some suspense, or uneasiness. Something which is about to happen and am trying to escape the situation. But I dont dream everyday.
Fears, are about what if situations. Like what if my car crashes? What if I fail in something? What would people say in this siutation to me?
**************************
12. What do you crave in food items and what are your aversions?
Dont like squash or mushy vegetables. Like all kinds of meat. Enjoy citrus fruits very much
13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?
Excessive
14. How is your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive?
Excessive perhaps
15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand?
Beans
16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs?
Normal
17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?
It is regular. Every morning.
18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?
Most days I sleep well if I am calm before. Like when my fiance is with me I sleep really well. Even when I talk to her before, or know she is well and working, I sleep well. When we have a quarrel (which is very frequent) I dont sleep well.
I like to sleep on my belly, but of late am trying to sleep on my back as that's healthy for your teeth.
19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?
In general, yes.
20. Do you have any strange, peculiar or unusual symptom or feelings? How are you different from others?
I feel I am smarter than most other people because I do things as they should be done. If someone misbehaves with me in some manner, I don't forget it.
********************************
21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?
Nux vomica, then Platina, then Aurum Metallicum, then Silicea. Aurum when first given was very successful I thought, when given in LM1 my conditions suddenly deteriorated. Silica wwas okay for a while, then as in my other post, the doctor tried what he called "plussing" and the pain aggravated suddenly.
Other than this problem, I take homeopathy very regularly. I have taken homeopathic medicines since I was born so it is not possible to give a complete list here. We had a very talented family homeopath. Usually the medicines were for common colds, coughs etc.
Some years back I had nosebleed issues (I had them since a kid almost everyday) which were cured forever with a dose of less than one week by our family homeopath. 3 years back I had a lot of hair loss, that was also treated by homeopathy. I don't remember the names of these though.'
22. What major diseases are running in your family?
Nothing major. Mom has arthritis and other bone problems.
23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance.
I am 5'10", fair, handsome I've been told. Moderately built neither weak nor muscular.
24. What major diseases have you had in your life and when. Please write them in a chronological manner.
(For Females)
n/a
25. If your menstrual cycles are not normal, please describe all irregularities, like pains, moods, flow type, clots etc. as below:
- Are your periods generally regular, early or delayed? What is the usual cycle duration?
- Describe the sensations and locations of pain before, during and after the flow.
- How do you generally deal with your sufferings during periods? Do you have any non-medical way of relieving your suffering?
- What is the duration of flow? Is it heavy, medium or light?
- Do you observe clots?
- Do you have mid-cycle spotting? What are the days you have spotting?
- Describe changes in your mental condition or any other peculiar symptom that surfaces before, during or after the flow.
- Do your sufferings increase or decrease as soon as the flow begins?
- Did you ever take birth control pills on a regular basis?
- Have you ever been treated earlier or recently for any gynecological irregularity? Please describe.

1. Apart from brushing and flossing, what are the situations when the pain is worse?
There are days when it suddenly becomes bad, and then many weeks pass when I don't feel bad. I really cannot think of a stimulus which it makes it bad. Maybe when I eat too many dry fruits like figs in one day it becomes bad, but now I don't do that! It just seems to come and go randomly..
2. What are the situations which make the pain better?
Gargling with salt water. Flossing.
3. Have you ever noticed any secretions from the gums?
No. Never.
4. How does the pain change with hot and cold application?
No difference.
5. Does the pain aggravate with cold weather or wind outside?
Not really.
6. Does the pain aggravate or ameliorate during a jerky ride on a motorcycle or jeep?
No..
7. Try to recall things that were happening in your life when you first started noticing pain in your gums.
The problems may have started long time ago, but I noticed when I moved to a different country. Then there may have been a change in lifestyle, and food too. This was about 4 years ago, and I started noticing about 2-2.5 years ago.

*********
Sorry questions 2-6 don't help much..
Another thing, for foods I like, and dislike : I don't like too sweet things. In fact I barely eat sugar. I do love chocolates and coffee though.

bissi 9 years ago
You seem to be a typical NUX VOM personality but the remedy that may help you other than Nux Vom is HEPAR SULPH.

I feel the affected area in your gum may be having some internal abscess making it sensitive to touch. Thus, Hepar Sulph may be tried out as it covers abscess of gums.

Whenever you have painful episodes next, take Hepar Sulph 30C once every 6 hours for maximum 4 doses. If the pain is relieved before, stop the rest of the doses.

Let me know after 15 days.

rishimba 9 years ago
Hi Rishimba,

Thanks for your response. I've got few more questions for you.

1. I presume Hepar Sulfur does't have any adverse reaction with the last remedies I have taken (in order from latest, Silicea -> Aurum Met -> Plat -> Nux....). Is that true?

2. How would you like me to take Hep Sul? I have it in dry form, but if you want me to take it in liquid form please tell me how.

3. As of today there isn't a great deal of pain (I haven't taken anything lately). In that case should I wait for the pain to come back and then start?

bissi 9 years ago
Remedies act best when symptoms are present. In your case, you should take the doses only when the pains return. Keep the liquid form of the remedy handy. One dose would be 3 drops in some 10 ml of water. Don't take any food or drinks one hour before or after.

When did you last take a homeopathic remedy? What was it?

If you have not taken a remedy higher than 200C in the last one week, there is no problem taking another one in the next few days.

rishimba 9 years ago
I wrote above that Silicea 30 was my last remedy. It was about 10 days ago.
I don't have a liquid solution of any remedy with me. Should I dissolve the pellets in alcohol and then in water, or how?
Thanks!

bissi 9 years ago
If you have HEPAR SULPH 30C pellets, you can dissolve 3 pellets in some 10 ml of water and sip it up as one dose.

rishimba 9 years ago
Hi Rishimba,

Just to update you, so far I have not taken even a single dose of Hep Sulphur as I did not have any discomfort in my teeth in the last week or so.

I have some discomfort in my shoulder and back for the past 8 months. Could I ask you about that as well?

bissi 9 years ago
Tell me the modalities of the pain.

Describe the exact sensation, location, most probable cause and factors that make it worse of better.

rishimba 9 years ago
Thanks.
So in May 2014 I hurt my right shoulder a little bit while playing squash. It was like I pulled a muscle, the pain was instantly very severe but then in few minutes it was fine and I started playing again. About 30 mins later the same happened and then I stopped.
Few months before May also this had happened, the exact same location and exact same way, but then I quickly took Arnica and the pain disappeared. This time (in May) I didn't do anything and a small pain kept on lingering for all these months.
A month or so ago I took a single dose of Arnica for this.

As of now, there is no pain in daily motions but there are cracking sounds especially at night when I lie down to sleep. Even from the left shoulder which was not injured. I feel like raising my arms and moving them in circular motions. The cracking sounds are pretty loud. Rotation of these shoulder joints helps. What makes the pain worse is if I pull my shoulder backwards. It is like a dull pain always existing but never shooting or making it horrible.

In the middle back I also have some pain sometimes when I sit for a long time working. It is worse from bending down.
Also the creaking joints is even in my wrist, and my fingers.

Your remedy is RHUS TOX 200C taken once every 12 hours for 2 days maximum.

Wait and watch your response for the next one week. Let me know how long did the dose hold. You may have to take a few more doses infrequently till the pain is all gone.

rishimba 9 years ago
Thanks. Will get back to you!

bissi 9 years ago
Hi Rishimba
Okay it is about 5 days so far. I took 3 doses of Rhustox in water in 36 hours. Last was three days ago.
Don't think there was any effect. Maybe after first dose there was some relief. Overall, I don't think it made a positive difference. But yes, feels like pain has increased at night and while lying down I need to move my arms, and there are loud popping sounds, with some pain.

bissi 9 years ago
The next best remedy to try out would be BRYONIA 12C once every 8 hours continuously for some days till you see a change. Take it for a week maximum. In case you see a change in the first few days, you can taper down the doses to two a day and then finally stop.

rishimba 9 years ago
I don't have 12 c with me.could I do 30 or 200? If so, how frequently should I take?
Thanks

bissi 9 years ago
Try 30C potency thrice a day, for two days only.

Wait and watch for the next few days and note all changes in you. Let me know how long this potency holds.

rishimba 9 years ago
Okay thanks. Just taken one dose. Would get back to you soon!

bissi 9 years ago
Hi Rishimba,

I took 5 doses within two days. Again, maybe after the first dose there was some effect. But even if there was it was not something significant. Doesn't look to have worked.. Last night the pain was too bad and so was the clunking. Spend an almost sleepless night rotating my arms. The sounds are loud, and especially at night while lying down.

bissi 9 years ago
Also if it matters, or is related, I have developed a slight cold lately. Some sneezing, and nose seems blocked, although there is expectoration. More so at night again..

bissi 9 years ago
Looking at your other symptoms or totality, you can try MERC SOL 30C some 3 or 4 doses on one day only and then wait for your response.

rishimba 9 years ago
is it safe to take it with Rhustox and Bryonia?
And safe to change remedies so often?
And if so, should I take again in water or solid pills?
Thanks

bissi 9 years ago
I was taking Silica a month ago. Silica and Merc sol conflict I believe?
