skin issue for my wife- eczema
Its sad, but my whole family has skin issues. I have posted about myself and my son, we are in the middle of treatment, and time will tell, though both are much better. This leaves my wife, who has not started any treatment yet, but who also has skin issues.currently she has a very itchy flaky patch on the back of her head, just above the hairline. It itches constantly, when she is warm or nervous, or when she needs to wash her hair. it seems to get better for a day after washing. After she gave birth to our son it got very bad, it had greenish pus coming out ect. Her pregnancy was not easy, she had pre-eclampsia and gained alot of weight. And, our son developed many food allergies almost right after birth. The spot on the back of her head was present for at least 5 years before the pregnancy, and she did use steroid creams on it to suppress it.
she also has a spot of eczema around her right nipple. And the bottoms of her feet, especially her heals are always very very dry and cracked... white color, though they apparently do not itch.
I think she craves sweets/carbs a bit, though cannot really eat them since she is still breastfeeding our son with allergies. My son was given the remedy of sulphur recently, 200c, and we are in the waiting period with him.
she is always tired, but has a very hard time sleeping at night. she cannot seem to fall asleep or stay asleep very well. also she worries very much about our son. She likes things to be very neat and organized, and likes a very set schedule. she is not spontaneous at all, rather very rigid about things. She tends to worry very much about many things.
I am interested in helping her find a constitutional remedy that can help bring her back to health.
Thanks for all advice.

RHUS-TOX is worse in cold wet weather and better in warm dry environment.
this is just the opposite of that of the disease.
GRAPHITES is a better match of modalities and symptoms.
dr. mehmood, you can also think of LYCOPODIUM.

please describe in detail the general mental symptoms of the patient.
modalities need to be finalised.
a third opinion on this case by another prescriber would benifit all of us including the patient.

Is the eczema still oozing?
Can you enclose a photograph?
Is she still using the steroid creams?
When did she stop it?
How big are the eczema patches? You can roughly say in inches length and width.
Other than steroid creams, what makes the eczema better?

Does your wife have a strong liking for chocolates, eggs, salt, mild winter sunshine, soups etc.? Or it could even be a strong liking earlier which she no longer has.Does she like to watch thunderstorms? Is there a history of cancer or diabetes in her family history?

Indeed.Carcinosin is a fascinating remedy for a fantastic generation of superachievers. With so many contradictions and nuances in its remedy picture.A given Carcinosin may look like Phosphorous, another a Arsenic, another a Natrum Mur or Causticum or Calcarea Carb and so on.
I myself have benefited a lot from Carcinosin.I certainly have fear of loud noises.
But thanks any way.

My wife is often depressed these days, mostly from worry about our son, but also from the death of her father three years ago. she is very negative, very irritable and moody. sometimes gets very angry and overreacts with our son too. its like she will not let herself be happy, is always down and worried.

At present, i don't think there is any oozing. I'll see if I can get a photo this evening.
She has not used steroid creams for over two years. the patch on the back of her head is about 2 inches across two inches tall. its very itchy and flaky. I see her scratching it all day, and at night too. It only feels a little bit less itchy after she washes. because its behind the hair, she doesn't put anything on it.
To Rajiv: she really likes homemade soups, but no real craving for chocolate, eggs, salt. because of our son's food allergies, she cannot eat grains, eggs, soy, ect... so, she often has carb cravings. I don't think she has any particular liking to thunderstorms. No cancer history that I am aware of, but her mother has diabetes, type two, only recently diagnosed. Her father died of a stroke 3 years ago at age 60. Her grandmother died of some long ailment like emphasema, though we can't be sure exactly what, it was in China.
She is not a career woman, she stays at home with our son. She is generally shy, quiet, and does not like socializing.

I will wait for the photograph. Meanwhile let us see if others have some suggestions.

we live in St. Louis, in the U.S., in the central part of the country, far from the sea. But, she grew up in Shanghai, China, right by the sea... and often comments that she wants to take a trip by the sea.... and misses home.
re processing her emotions... I would say that she is not very in touch with her emotions. she keeps things inside. she is not very aware of her moods, at least she does not seem to be to me. If she is angry at me, she will not let me console her at all.
Her symptoms seem to get worse if she is nervous or anxious, hard to say a time a day when they are better or worse. feeling tired most of the time these days too.
her digestion seems to be ok. she is always very hungry, but as she is still breastfeeding our son, she is very very thin. being on a limited diet is probably part of the problem.

Give me some time to analyse the case. Meanwhile other presribers may also study the case.

The photographs are not that clear.
Any way,I think your wife needs Nat.Mur now.
Let her take three doses of Nat.mur 200c, on three consecutive days, and wait for three weeks.
No other medicines please, during this three weeks period.
Post weekly status.I won't prescribe anything else until three weeks, and I don't mind even if you wait for three weeks, and post only then.

Avoid camphor in any form totally, and keep her away from incense sticks too.

Thank you for your help. I have to confess that we will probably have to wait a few days. She took a single dose of graphites yesterday. He mood was so bad, and, reading the above post, and reading the indication of graphites, I thought it was close. I know I have probably complicated things, I was hoping that you would confirm graphites as the choice. Should we simply wait a few weeks then try the nat mur? Please let me know your advice.

Nothing to worry.
Any medicine, if stopped after a single dose, will do whatever good it can.
However, you have to wait for atleast a week.
Please report progress after a week.

re the camphor, is that hidden in various products? are there any big ones to watch out for?
And, I would like to understand the remedy selection process. May I ask you what are the big indicators that led you to chose Nat mur?
Thanks,
John

Both my wife and I formerly had candida overgrowth. After I cleared candida overgrowth, my eczema and food intolerances got much worse. This is in line I think with bringing deeply suppressed conditions back to the surface through natural healing, so that it can be healed.
I am now a firm believer in classical homeopathy. My own eczema is so much better after one month of trying a constitutional remedy that I almost can't believe it. My food intolerances as well... seem to be healing. So, don't give up hope, you can find a way to heal.

nat.mur is basically introverted. Doesn't like consolation.rather a closed type.
nat.mur wants everything to be kept neatly organised.
nat.mur has an affinity towards the hair line. The location of the eczema,is a pointer towards it.
nat.mur can cause cracks anywhere in the body, but more so in lower limbs.
